Probably paying them Sunday League wages too…

    Mason Greenwood

With all due respect, that is all conjecture. It could be true, but these are assumptions that can't be verified. For obvious reasons, Greenwood brand is toxic after these allegations and I can't see how he plays football in England for very long time now. That said, in the eyes of law, he has...

Longer term, our trajectory is better than Luton’s - at least until they’ve paid off their stadium. Apparently that’s what Luton will be spending their PL money on. A sensible allocation of funds too to be fair.

Other people who were willing to commit could have also benefitted from cheap tickets - that’s the point. I find it ironic that you’re all for exclusivity of the away points system on the grounds of commitment - very valid argument that I agree with you on now, btw. Yet, accessibility to cheap...

No, but I pay for my brother’s season tickets who is a concession. I did not want to pay for £1,000 for two PL packages, so got our STs in the family zone. I’m moving down to London and my brother plays rugby most Saturday’s - we signed up nonetheless despite potentially missing a few games.

Exactly, you’re not running a football club spending millions on players with a stated aim of getting to the premiership. From the clubs perspective, there was apparently evidence of people abusing the previous pricing regime that was relatively more generous to concessions. Therefore, they’ve...

How does that impact revenue? If the revenue was higher with the rip off prices, with less attendance, then the club has achieved what it set out to. I do feel for away fans on this because they don’t have cheaper bulk alternatives to go on. The pricing, in fairness, seems to assumes that the...

If we’ve capped them at 18,500, would that have changed? Perhaps we would’ve sold out the PL packages and the 18,500 sooner.

I’m not convinced that the pricing is impacting attendances outside of individual circumstances/anecdotes to be honest. Realistically, how many more people would come to games? At 18,500 ST holders, the lowest attendance we’ll see this season will be 19-20,000? Our season ticket pricing was...

We’ve hedged our bets on the season tickets. At this stage, I don’t think we have much core support past the 18,500 or so ST we’ve sold already. Now, only success and big games will draw more support. We do need a match package offering to cater to fans who can commit to a few games but not all.

The two older men stood behind me said ‘get your stats up lads’ in a mocking tone whenever our players - particularly Eccles and Sheaf - passed the ball backwards and sideways. We were the most direct team in the league last season and v Leicester…

Agreed on both points. I think there’s a lot of potential in our team and 1-2 players in the starting team from being real contenders. If we can get a player like Hamer in, even someone who needs 1-2 seasons to get there, we’ll be laughing.

I agree with @Nick where there were runs being made by Wright in particular (but also Godden and Simms) but the build was too slow. If they haven’t got the range of passing, that’s fine but we need players who have got those attributes. Which I’m sure MR is aware of and working on.

Agree, he did look good. My concern would be that Father Time will catch up to McFadz this season (yes, been the case for 2-3 seasons now) - we need to be prepared. I wouldn’t panic, Simms is 4-5 years younger than Yates and even if he’s not better right now, he probably has a higher ceiling.

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

Our sample size is small, we haven’t created much in our games so far. Godden’s goals have both been very well taken (exactly what we need tbh) as neither of his goals were ‘clear cut’ chances. Without Hamer’s passing range, we struggle to transition the ball up the field quickly. Eccles and...

I personally rated Hamer from day one, but his discipline was not great. I’m sure if we took a look at earlier match threads we’d see a lot of negativity. There were naysayers in the minority until before the World Cup - that’s not an unfair observation is it?

    Perspective

4 points from 3 games isn’t worthy of pressing the panic button. We’ve lost Hamer and Gyokeres and we have to adapt to that. Especially replacing Hamer because we haven’t made any signings in that department and there’s some to come. Shout out to the fellow SBA in the Swansea Premier Inn!

See early reactions to Gyokeres and Hamer. It takes time to mould players and develop them. We took Gyokeres from a 3rd choice behind Biamou to being a €24m striker for a UCL/Europa League team.
