I went to my first non-league game about 2-3 weeks ago and I found it bizarre the home and away fans swapped ends! Maidenhead is my (new) local team since I moved there.

    Uber for Matt?

Godden scored all his goals at the start of the season bar one. 3 of his 9 goal have come against lower league opposition. Yes they all count, but it’s more likely that he’s no longer a good fit for the team. That was my opinion before the season started, Godden started well and earned a...

Agree with that, putting Lati in at RB could help with MVE’s fatigue. PNE is an important game now so we need to be as fresh as possible.

All these details will be picked up by the coaches - whereas posters on here want one neat scapegoat. Lati is a mixed bag in midfield and all. Sometimes he looks classy in midfield and others he looks awkward. Eccles needs a good rest and when he’s back my estimation is that he needs to really...

I think Plymouth score even if Thomas didn’t dive in - he probably dove in because we were exposed. There wouldn’t be a need to if we were defensively set as a team. The missed tackle made a dangerous situation worse.

    Uber for Matt?

Who? Robins? Is it not possible that the more likely reason was that he was miffed at the performance and all the social media stuff was a tipping point for his mood?

Robins will probably disagree on that point. He’s a 22/23 year striker who has a lot of upside. Even last season Gyokeres had a barren 10+ game goalless streak.

No ifs or buts, Simms scored. You don’t get style points. Since the new year he’s got 3 goals in 10-11 games - a respectable return. Godden in the other hand, 1 league goal since September.

If you’d have offered a point before the game, you’d have taken it. We’re still in the playoffs with the strongest GD of the teams below us. After WBA and Watford, all of our away games (bar Southampton) are against bottom half teams which puts us in good stead. MR will keep calm, we’re in a...

They’re all collective failures. This forum obsessed over assigning blame to an individual for each goal. Why did we launch a long ball to JDS? Where was MVE for their second? And so on… There was a catalogue of errors that lead to both goals. Whilst we miss Sheaf’s defensive work in...

    Uber for Matt?

We’ll strengthen that area in the summer but Jan was not the time to do it imo. We’ve got EMC coming in so Wright will probably play more centrally next season. Simms will improve, since Swansea at home his goal ratio is 1 in 3. For the rest of the season, he needs to give Simms the starting...

    Clean sheets

Is it a coincidence that we’ve conceded nearly 2 goals every game since Sheaf got injured? That’s playing a part.

The second Godden chance and Simms’ 1v1. Plymouth didn’t have too many clear cut chances themselves - their second goal was a deflection and I’m not 100% convinced it was a shot - it probably was, I’m just not certain of that.

On the wing he was more involved and for his goal he was actually put through against the keeper. He is a player that needs to be involved. His movement waiting for deflections was good (likewise with Godden to be fair). Tonight I’d have said Godden played quite well, first time he got some...

The second goal was a deflection. He had it covered had it not hit Thomas and changed direction. Definitely not at fault.

We needed to rest players and those changes were not why we struggled. We could’ve been 2-0 up.

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

Overall, we played quite well in the first half and had Godden put us 1-0 up, it’s probable we stay on the front foot. Ironically, it was when we brought on our starters that we looked more vulnerable. Palmer isn’t on that same level as COH and in my view, he’s a role player if his final third...

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

Plymouth have lost 3 games at home this season and drew 3. Winning here was always a tough ask and we’ve missed 2 v clear cut chances and conceded 2 sloppy goals. You reap what you sow. As I wrote this, we scored and got the draw so everyone can stop pissing the bed.

To be fair, the replays show a bad deflection off Thomas. At first viewing I thought Collins was at fault.

Exactly, and if we refer back to the ‘do we miss Hamer?’ Thread we’ll see plenty of people saying ‘no’.
