    Milan van Ewijk Appreciation Thread

I agree but it’s more complex than that though, is he fully match fit and does he have the chemistry with the players around him. This is Maidstone’s FA Cup final so they’re going to elevate their game. It should still be a routine win with some fringe players. It’s best to take the job...

    Maidstone Tickets

Beating WBA would be huge but it doesn’t increase the % of us making the playoffs that much. There’s still 33 points to play for after that match so we can’t rest on our laurels. Most of our away games are winnable after WBA - with Southampton being an exception. At home, we’ve lost one game...

    Watford tickets

I thought I got away with it because June was the original plan but the better half could t do that time! My plan for the rest of the season is to go every renaming game so that’d put me to around 1150 points if you include 20 points for another cup game. Which, ironically, would probably be...

    Watford tickets

We’ve got our Maidstone tickets! Hopefully we can go 1000 before the end of the season because I’m thinking ahead to the playoffs. That said, I’m possibly going to miss both legs if we get the final as I’m on holiday - back in time for the FA Cup and playoff finals though! 😂

    Watford tickets

In the future, particularly if we get to the Prem, I do think a ballot system will work. This much demand for tickets before general sales is a new thing for the club so we don’t really need to change much right now. With the current system, I can see where there’s some frustration. Yet, I do...

The points accrued over 3 years ago are wiped iirc, so the points will be more or less the same, right? My brother is on 970 and it’s a struggle to get tickets together now. It’s not really a problem for me because my brother’s ticket is usually a spare. For a lot of people this may be a...

For most allocations, the current points breakdown and timings won’t make a difference because you find there’s a lot of people on 1700+ points anyway. For more in demand games, they’ll push the threshold up to 1,100+ points and so on. If anything, they’ll probably allocate ‘x’ % because as...

Possibly, it really depends on how we end the season and how much optimism there is around the club. Another playoff final defeat? People will be gutted but season tickets will sell!

Yes I do and it’s what has been suggested to @Saddlebrains. If anything we could potentially sell more season tickets if the trial of Cov fans behind the goal

Exactly. So there’s no rush to get promoted this season. Looking at the league next season and the state of our team, there’s no reason why we couldn’t be pushing for automatics with 4-5 quality signings.

    Ellis is big dog now

He’s a player that’s been identified as someone who could one day be Prem quality. If he realises the £8m fee he’ll be well worth it. A lot of people need to realise that we’ve signed him on a 4 year contract and that’s a lot of time to develop someone. If after that period we lose money on...

I’m glad he’s anti-loan because we’ve put some serious money into build a squad of own players. However, there needs to be a pragmatism there and if we don’t make the playoffs, you’d think MR would raise these points to Doug. In any case, King’s expectations publicly is to be ‘in and around’...

    Next block of 5

We will finish in the top 6. We’ve got an ‘easier’ run in compared to the teams around us. We’ll manage with the injuries but we’ll probably run out of squad in the playoffs.

    Exciting times for all skyblues

Counting chickens before they’ve hatched. That game in hand against Plymouth is away, likewise, Hull’s game in hand is against Southampton away. Hoping 2 losses but my money would be on an Albion draw and Southampton win.

    Exciting times for all skyblues

We’re 1 point behind them now, a win against PNE and WBA would be massive. WBA have got Plymouth and Hull away before they play us so we could both be out of the playoffs by March 2nd.

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

Happened against Stoke too. I’ve noticed a few times that COH can slow play down and can choose relatively low risk passes. It’s a minor tweak unless he’s been told specifically not to make those passes.

That is nonsense. He’s made more public pronouncements praising his relationship with Doug. Robins is first and foremost, a pragmatist and states things as he sees it. Players are tired and he needs to deflect/manage expectations with the fans.

Probably not but he understands it’s an incremental process and he’s setting expectations with fans. The FA Cup was probably increased the annoyance because it’s 4-5 extra games (assuming we beat Maidstone). With the games coming thick and fast it’s v difficult to manage the players workload...

It was energetic which is what Robins was looking for in Sakamoto’s place. Without being harsh, the quality was lacking. Perhaps Tavares should start against Maidstone. I was in the camp that he shouldn’t but today’s performance has influenced my opinion.

We’ve got a lot of young players who might not be Prem quality right now, but will be in 1-2 seasons. If we get promoted we’ll end up signing players in positions who are definitely Prem calibre. Trust the process.
