Kelly had a solid game, until Sheaf is fit he should probably start. The leadership, organisation and defensive play warrants it. Eccles seemed to have more freedom out wide so I’d probably give MVE a rest against Watford too. For all his faults, Kelly is generally a reliable performer even if...

Should Ohare now be back up for Palmer

If you had no prior knowledge of the teams tonight and the last couple of games, you wouldn’t have thought COH had more goals and assists than Palmer. If Palmer can turn these performances into more goals and assists, we’ll have some player on our hands.

It’s not a reflection on his performance, he’s another that could do with a rest. This game is wrapped up - no need to risk anyone.

Stop tryna force someone to play RW 😂 Without Sakamoto we don’t have the personnel to play 4-2-3-1 so we’re probably going to keep 3-4-1-2 for the rest of the season.

He’s having a good game there, been tidy in possession, made some intelligent runs too. Without getting too excited, Rotherham aren’t really a defensive test so I don’t believe he should play ahead of MVE.

    Do we even miss Hamer?

Is now a good time to bring up that Wright and Simms have more goals this season than Gyokeres in 49 games?

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

Blaming the strikers when you concede poor goals and create no good chances is just a bit silly. Simms had one chance that game, should’ve tested the keeper but it wasn’t a horrendous miss.

    He’s always been a good instinctual finisher…

    Transfer Rumour Summer 2024

Da silva has a longer, bigger contract that someone needs to pick up. So we’re unlikely to be able to offload even if we wanted to at this stage. I prefer Bidwell, my preference is an upgrade on both of them.

    Transfer Rumour Summer 2024

I’m not against Bidwell leaving. He’s a good player but we need to be ambitious in the market. A left footed MVE is the dream. JDS will do as a backup.

Should Ohare now be back up for Palmer

It’s tactical, we’re a lot less direct than we were last season. We will need more players in to perfect that style of play.

Should Ohare now be back up for Palmer

A couple of my mates have said something to the effect of ‘COH has to score to have a good game’. Both are neutral and don’t really have any biases. For example, one of the games was Leicester and we both thought Palmer looked the more threatening player before he was subbed. Then again...

It’s as much personnel than system. Sakamoto was a big reason for our success in 4-2-3-1. Same with Sheaf, we’ve looked defensively vulnerable since he’s been injured. I honestly think that our best team is in a 3-4-1-2/the box formation. I don’t like that either.

Should Ohare now be back up for Palmer

Tavares won’t be with us next season. He is only in the team because we’re short on numbers. He’s not a winger, probably never going to be because he doesn’t have the skill set other than his pace. Two goals against Maidstone doesn’t change that.

Who is good enough next season?

There’s players we need to upgrade on, absolutely. My priority areas are central midfield and out wide. The championship has ground us down in those areas. However, I do think you’ll look back on this and cringe. We had two bad performances missing key players. There’s a lot to play for still...

Should Ohare now be back up for Palmer

For the money, but to then want out of the most lucrative contracts these players have ever had is telling. Is it not? They probably also got sold a dream about the league and what life would be like out there. It’s important to note that the kinds of players going there are either older...

Should Ohare now be back up for Palmer

That’s not the be all and end all for footballers. Most footballers want to compete at the highest level they can. They obviously want to maximise their earnings, the difference between earning 100k per week and 50k per week is not much. When you’re earning that much you can do pretty much...

Who is good enough next season?

It’s fair to say the English domestic league is a lot tougher than La Liga. Madrid and Barcelona have won all the Champions Leagues compared to Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U and Man City in England. Likewise, Spurs and Arsenal have been finalists. Correct me if I’m wrong, the only other Champions...
