A great series all round. Test cricket at its best. Exciting hour this morning and dramatic.

    Womens football

Hampton excelled in the penalties. And I think Carter deserves a lot of credit for her performance today…the second half and extra times she was immense

Simple football; out wide, good cross and lovely placed header

Spain are stronger, fitter and more skilful. England giving up space and hardly marking wide players. At least on two occasions England have turned their backs on Spain’s early free kicks. But whilst it’s only one goal England still have a decent chance.

Match Thread Bristol Rovers (Friendly) Match Thread

Dominated second half…much fresher than Bristol as game developed. Not a bad run out or performance. Bassette needs to go on loan. Will Lampard use Andrews as back up or send him on loan? If Milan off will Raphael be used as late sub as tats tires? Need an extra CB as I can’t see Binks being...

BTA looked lively and could/should have netted one of his chances. Allen looked decent without being special. Other than that not much to say

Best TV shows or movies you can recommend

Watching ‘narrow road to the deep north’; a superb series with some excellent performances but an incredibly tough watch on the brutality of war.

    Modern Football Terms you Dislike

Especially as in modern football players carry their squad number through a season and even choose their own number based on any number of spurious reasons. Often in games neither side has a ‘6’ or ‘8’ or whatever on the pitch

Wife does a morning a week in a charity shop. I do a gardening group with people who have learning difficulties (4 or 5 clients and a full time member of the charity and me).

    Away Kit WC Group C

Really like the ‘cathedral window’ kit but it has to be the brown. A kit everyone of a certain age (our supporters or others) had an opinion on

But imagine if that ‘easy start’ delivers only a couple of points. Then they can look forward to facing the rest of the season chasing Derby’s lowest point tally.

    Allotment/Veg patch

Squashes take up a lot of space so I would limit the number of them. lettuce and spinach dont take up much space and kale ok if you want a winter veg. Soft fruits are worth thinking about for future years (gooseberries, red and black currants give a good return if soil decent).

    Allotment/Veg patch

How big the area? Yes re lettuce. Also try perpetual spinach. Perhaps a few leeks (I planted mine today), beetroot will still grow and a couple of squashes (if you can get plants rather than start from seed)…butternut squash or a baked potato squash or a pumpkin.
