The telegraph and CCFC official ought to separate these signings. I get all excited at the headline of a signing to discover it’s a ‘one for the future Under 21 jobbie. It’s good business sense but not quite the same as signing a first team ready player.

Are we surprised when players leave when they get written off after 20 odd appearances? I mean, if he was star quality ready he wouldn’t sign for us would he, he’d be higher up the chain. He’s a younger who will develop. I’m backing him.

In 9th place is overachieving for a promoted team who won promotion via the back door last year. The problem we have and always will have is fans with a mindset of ‘we are Coventry city, we should be higher’

I can see points behind most of the comments on Bayliss good and bad. I’ll keep it simple. He’s one of our own, young and hungry and is an asset to us. Let’s keep coaching and improving him to find consistency which will come with age. Other clubs are keen which tells me enough.

Great result. Ended a bad run at their place, 4 wins on the bounce, put that shower to the sword. Sloppy conceding 2 but I’ll take it. Momentum is key in this league and we are finding some. On the fringe of the playoffs now. Whopper of a game Saturday now.

This will sound like I’m getting carried away but genuinely, it feels like the players are growing and showing signs of clicking into the system. By the time we get through Xmas we could be a real threat in this league and have a strong finish.

Class away ground. Went a couple of years back when we nicked it 1-2. Ian Holloway was commentating for Sky and got loads to stick. Old school ground but actually new. We get one end behind the goal - bit cramped but decent view.
