Neither did East Germany when it joined. Also Scotland doesn’t have to specifically rejoin the EU to gain access to the single market. Jesus Christ. Zimbabwean inflation levels. Even by your standards that’s a serious piece of whataboutery. Zimbabwe is a good example of dismissing your claims...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We don’t police the border between the UK and EU for goods. We are waving goods arriving from the EU straight through. The EU doesn’t have hard borders with many non EU countries. A soft land border between Endland and Scotland as an EU member has a precedent.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The EU has an open border with the UK right now. We’re not checking goods coming into the UK from the EU. The only border we’re policing is the one we’ve put in the Irish Sea cutting the UK in two. The only people implementing brexit and policing the EU border with the UK is the EU. You should...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s difficult to see how Scotland can loose out if it left the UK and rejoined or in actual fact didn’t rejoin the EU. So you’re saying that people looked upon them in the same way as you and Nick look at these protesters but ultimately like these protesters are correct in what they’re protesting. Basically you’re saying that you’re on the wrong side of history and Pete is right to make the comparison. Well done...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I had a health scare earlier this year (nothing to worry about in the end). I had a telephone consultation in the morning, a face to face consultation in the afternoon, a referral on the spot, seen the specialist 2 days later. The only thing I had to wait for was a scan, a 2 week wait that...

Them Monday protesters in East Germany, just a bunch of attention seekers looking to get on TV. Never achieved anything, that will teach them.

It’s not just finished goods either. China make something like three quarters of the the lithium batteries in the world so your phone, electric car, rechargeable appliance etc may say made in any other country but China but the component in it with one of the biggest carbon footprints in it...
