Well there was the rumour he was using it to curry favour for a development at Ansty. That has now been approved so I guess the arena would have served it's purpose and he no longer needed it.

I agree. Playing as we did Saturday as plan A, 3ATB, wingbacks and two strikers as plan B.

Similar to what I said in the QPR match thread and thought "the actual stats/data people are probably laughing at this because I've no idea how the actual metric works". Nice to know someone that has some knowledge in the subject wonders the same thing.

Formations are more fluid but all the stuff re: positioning etc. still has to be learnt on the training ground so having a chance to test out a plan B in a competitive scenario would still be useful.

I have wondered how xG is compiled. Is it done solely on the position of the shot because I can't see how they could get an accurate like for like comparison. For example you could have a shot from say the penalty spot but be one on one with the keeper and the ball sitting perfectly for you...
