    Mean while back in court

So we're back to square one. CCC saying ACL would be fine without the football club which means there was no need to sell to Wasps. And it seems Wasps didn't just pitch up shortly before the purchase as some on here have suggested.

CCC say ACL doing well but they seem to base that on the cost of borrowing going down which wouldn't have happened without the bailout! Judge asks for clarification of the financial picture and is told there was negative cash flow.

    Confused from Coventry

IMO having Mowbray and Venus in control of all things football related has been a big plus this year and has let to success. It seems odd, hopefully just coincidental, that within a few days of Anderson turning up things started going downhill and now he seems to be getting involved in the...

    Mean while back in court

I think I'm missing something here. Group A owns Company A who own Asset A worth £1m. Company A owes Bank A £2m. Bank A are getting a bit nervous about getting their money back. Bank B loans Company A the money to pay off Bank A, Without this Company A is in danger of going out of business...

    Mean while back in court

Doesn't that bring us back to the initial point. How can the lease act as security if it doesn't revert to CCC in the event of ACL going under?

    Mean while back in court

So how can CCC use the lease valuation as justification for making the loan? Shouldn't they be using the valuation of ACL? They've already said today that the lease wouldn't revert to CCC if ACL went bust so its value doesn't really come into it as far as I can see. So you have ACL valued at...

    Mean while back in court

Well you can, CCC are saying in court the value of the lease, without CCFC as tennants, was £6.4m. How then can a 200 year extension, a deal done with CCFC as tennants, be worth £1m?

    Mean while back in court

I don't see how they can say they had the lease valued at £6.4m with no rent and over £10m with £400K rent and then say the sale price to Wasps was correct. That's even before you consider the huge lease extension given to Wasps. And that valuation is only the value of the football club being...

Don't think they have, doesn't it pass to the bondholders now?

Isn't that the council's own fault for not having the lease terms set out in a manner that would allow them to reclaim the lease? Found the question from the judge about the amount CCC had put into ACL interesting. If CCC put nothing in why did it matter if ACL went bust and they got nothing out?

    Mean while back in court

Been out of the office all morning, just catching up and was about to say the same. If it was irrelevant yesterday if it was a holiday or strike why are CCC now basing their whole arguement around it being a rent strike which put ACL in danger of going under. Intersting that of course at the...

    Mean while back in court

Think its a fairly key point. A rent holiday would be agreed by both sides. Puts the clubs action in a very different light. It also ties in to the loan. CCC can't claim they had to bail ACL out to protect their investment as SISU were refusing to pay rent if it was an agreed course of action...

    Mowbray Out

Quite an interesting read: http://www.burtonmail.co.uk/Opinion-Burton-Albion-s-sale-Nasser-El-Khayati/story-28648020-detail/story.html Says he's not performed well since Hasslebank left and he's gone to QPR to link back up with him.

    Mean while back in court

Seems what SISU are claiming is that it was a rent holiday that ACL were happy with as it would drive down the value which they wanted to do in order to get the loan off Yorkshire Bank cheap. There was a few points today where the SISU chap was talking about how the language from the council...

    Loans or not

Goalscorers are hard to find at the best of times. Can't imagine there's a lot sat around unable to get a club. And if there are any are they match fit and ready to go?

    Official February loan window

Mowbray's interview is clearly talking about loans as he goes into detail about having to leave players out every week due to the number of loans we have.

    Official February loan window

How do we end up with idiot after idiot in charge. I was quite optimistic when Anderson came in but after that load of drivel he came out with in the Telegraph yesterday and this today he's already heading towards Fisher status, or even worse Orange Ken. Ridiculous to have your manager saying...

    Official February loan window

Not sure how that's going to work. Won't any club considering loaning a player be wanting to know how often they are likley to play if 3 loanees have to miss out every game.

Think you're missing my point. What I'm saying is you can't simply say the rent has gone from £1.2m to £200K as you're not comparing like with like. What we got for £1.2m is nothing like what we are getting for £200K so its not a case of simply saying the rent has been reduced.
