Not in that context. If we get caught on the break and he gets done for pace, or makes a mistake under pressure, or even a progressive pass that goes astray, that’s fair enough and those errors happen. He’s just miscontrolled the ball under no pressure and Norwich react quickly, it’s unforgivable.

If we just keep up our home form, we’ll be sound. The away form needs to be addressed and we need to start on Saturday. December we could point to a packed schedule, we’ve had 22 games between league away games so that excuse doesn’t wash.

Kitching miscontrolled a ball at his feet with plenty of time. It’s a basic mistake, he’ll be called out for it. I’d agree if we’d conceded 10-15m into the half, not after 40s. We literally didn’t have time to lose control.

Nonetheless, we created the better chances in both halves. That wasn’t the fundamental problem, It’s just sloppy defending and individual errors costing us. When Lampard said we ‘gifted’ them the goals, that’s an accurate assessment imo. Tactically though, Lampard needs to take stock and...

I don’t think it’s a personnel issue, it’s down to tactics. Too much space between Grimes-Torp-BTA/Eccles to connect play. Both in build up play and in the defensive structure. To reiterate, those kind of counter attacks didn’t do us in though. The first goal was straight from KO and the second...

If we just take our chances, we win v PNE, Southampton, Charlton, Birmingham and Norwich. Of those games, we definitely should’ve won 2 or 3 of those. Bar Southampton and Blues, all the other teams basically scored all their clear cut chances. It’s irritating.

22/23 Hamer, yes. 25/26 Hamer, no. He’d be suited to where BTA was today. Grimes will struggle in the Prem if we get there. He’s struggled against the more physical teams in this league.

For a bit of balance, we created 3 big chances in the second and 2 of those came at 1-1 (Haji and EMC). You can’t miss that many chances and not be punished. At 1-1, we were the more likely to score and if you’re going to gift a goal as Kitching did, you won’t win many games in this division...

Agreed. I’m annoyed when teams play through us but unforced errors are the worst. In key moments this team has just done the stupidest unforced errors.

Well, we should’ve scored 1 of the 2 big chances we had before they scored… All the complaints about the midfield and so on isn’t what lost us the game. Thomas gets caught flat footed for their first and Kitching loses the ball with an unforced error in a suicidal position. We need a player...

We missed 3 big chances in one half and had the best chances of the match so that’s something. Kitching gifting that goal is infuriating.

The fact we’re asking the question infers that the OP feels like we’ll bottle it. We’re 8 points clear of 3rd and people are bedwetting. We have the best home record in the league and Boro need to come to us and a better record away record than Ipswich. I’m angry we threw away a lead, but it...

Point 2 I agree with. 5-3-2 or something when we’re away might be a good should too. Something isn’t going our way when we’re on the road atm. We’ve lost 3 of our last 5 away games but at least you can afford to lose about 5-7 away games and still go up automatically.

4/5 home games. The issue is our away form. Fail win at QPR and it’s 2 months without an away win.

Norwich must surely be our official bogey team. 0 wins in 16. At least we’ve actually beaten PNE a few times at home. Miserable away day.

    25/26 January Transfer Window

They’ve already spent £100-150m on championship talent, I’m not sure Neil improves them that much. Maybe he starts ahead but of Jack Taylor? For us, I don’t think he’s better than Grimes or Torp.

    25/26 January Transfer Window

To be honest, I’m not that fussed about Neil. Obviously a good Championship player but it’s not a given he improves the starting eleven. Ipswich have got Prem money but their recruitment is geared towards being too good for the Championship, but not good enough for Prem imo.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s not a grift, these parties are occupying a vacuum left by the trade union movement/political left. I’d agree on the final sentence, from 1997 to present day, both Tory and Labour have been wedded to Blairite consensus. Blair himself being a Thatcher’s ‘biggest political accomplishment’.
