    Racism

It’s the definition of impossibility. How can you talk about black history and not be political. Unless you want to write out certain parts of black history. Which just defeats the point.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Just to add that I do actually agree with the bite the bullet stance. Problem I have now if it gets cancelled they think that’s the answer to what was a badly managed project from day one that has just gotten worse and worse. The only real answer is manage it better from day one. The government...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Yeah but they’ll retain Boris’ old seat again so that’s really a win 😀

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I was reading that the decision to “pause” the old oak to Euston leg is going to cost an extra £360M mainly because 2 tunnellers have to be parked. And the pause of 2 years will actually cause a delay of 3.5-4 years in total construction time which will push the price up again should a...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The answer is do it right. Like other countries. I accept no two countries are the same for a broad range of reasons but for some reason we obviously pay over the odds. Just on the tunnelling excuse alone if we’d subcontracted the building out to the Japanese government they could tunnelled the...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It may be one reason but it isn’t the reason. Take just one of the main contractors Skanska for instance. Its turnover has grown by 25% due to HS2, which is fine, it’s a major infrastructure project, it would be naive to not expect that. But why has their profit increased by 60% in the same...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The tunnelling thing doesn’t really run true. Japan has just built a new line for the bullet train. Most of which is tunnelled and the cost per mile is £51M per mile which is just less than a third of what it’s costing in the UK to build HS2. One thing that doesn’t get talked about is...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Surely it’s the situation that has no grey area. Russia invaded under a false pretext and Ukraine is willing to stand against that. It really is no more complicated than that.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Yeah, I mean if you discount the foiled invasion that was going to be a 3 day walkover then yeah, aside from that no progress. I think in the first days even the most ardent supporters of Ukraine were not expecting Ukraine to be able to resist. All Russia has achieved is about 17% of the...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

There’s plenty of evidence that Ukraine is close to cutting off Crimea. Most notably the recent attacks on the Naval base. If Russia can’t resupply its troops there it’s only a matter of time before they capitulate. Russias military is in disarray. They’re struggling for ammunition, they’re...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

I never said that they had made huge gains this summer. That ain’t the gotcha you think it is. The key point is that Russia hasn’t made any gains and is in danger of losing the land bridge to Crimea. They’re dug in hoping for a “draw” that isn’t going to happen and could lose Crimea before Xmas.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Who on numerous occasions has said that the war will be over in 24 hours with a Russian “victory”. His record on this conflict has been so wrong at every turn he’s made his previous credibility irrelevant. He’s clearly out of touch.

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Well. That’s just a detachment from reality. Ukraine made huge gains last summer. Russia used winter to dig in defensive positions and turn the front line into the most mined country in the world. Anyone who thought that Ukraine would make the gains this summer that they did last summer is...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

Still can’t believe that people ignore their own eyes and feel Putin can be negotiated with in good faith.

Fine tooth handsaw then. Cut from the side you want to look best. Take long sweeping cuts applying just enough pressure, if you try to force it you’ll be more likely to damage the laminate and not keep the straight cut both sides.

Circular saw with a fine toothed blade. Cut it from the opposite side that you want to look best. Additionally you could use some wide masking tape and have the cut line down the middle of the tape, some people say it makes a neater cut but personally I’ve never noticed the difference.

    Racism

In which case can you explain why there’s racism? Because what you’re describing is the 20 years (and beyond) of the education system until very recently.
