    Phil Townsend inquest

Have I got this right: Townsend took out a mortgage on someone else's (not a relative?) house using power of attorney. For some reason the money ended up in his account. A complaint was made to the police and an investigation started but they didn't bother to speak with Townsend? Seems odd to...

    Phil Townsend inquest

If you have power of attorney and undertake equity release surely that money goes to the person whose house it is, not your own pocket.

Club vote in favour of the new EFL trophy setup

I would have liked a day at Wembley under the old format but this all seems a bit pointless. Who wants to go to Wembley to play a cup final against someone else's youth team?

    Ched Evans

Said it before but it needs the FA to make a law about this. Either say people awaiting trial and / or with previous convictions for certain types of crimes can't play or let them get on with it. What if he's found guilty again but only gets 6 months, can he play after that like others have upon...

    Top gear

What kind of ratings were regular episodes with the old presenters getting? Not a fan of the old or the new as I'm not into cars in the slightest but it strikes me that they should have made it more different. From a brief watch it seems like its trying to be the same program with new...

Tony Mowbray eyeing quality recruits from Championship rather than another Joe Cole

Headline is a bit harsh on Cole. Mowbray's quotes don't read to me as if he's saying no more Cole's implying Cole was shit, more that there won't be household names.

Arguments against Coventry as a 'City of Rugby'

Would be interesting to see public money awarded locally per sport and how that compares against participation figures. I suspect football would have a fairly low cost per participant - that's just a hunch not based on any evidence before people start making demands!

Arguments against Coventry as a 'City of Rugby'

City of Sport would be fantastic but is probably unlikely as it would need investment into facilities. Focusing on rugby makes no sense to me, if the aim is to get people to participate football is the obvious choice. If the aim to to promote attendance at games should public grants really be...

    Simon Gilbert Announcement

Simon's starting to stray into Les Reid territory. Started off hailed by the fans, took some criticism and then starts blocking people and making sarcastic comments on twitter. Hopefully he won't be on gardening leave soon!

Armstrong Injured and out of Euro U19 Championship

Very disappointing, he must be gutted. Would have liked to see him on the tournament.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Best site for factual information is fullfact.org, not just for the EU for politics in general. They fact check, and list sources, PMQs, Question Time etc.

    Euro 2016 big thread

There has to be allowance for someone who moves from, for example, USA to England when they are an infant. Its finding the balance. How many people would you ever ask what nationality they are and they wouldn't know yet they will happily play for another country.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

This is the problem with politics in general in this country. A lot of people are entrenched in their views and don't even want to consider the alternative viewpoint.

    RIP John Bloxham

Not a name I recognised but did a lot of work with the academy kids. A lot of tweets from former players saying how big an influence he was on there careers. 70 is no age to go these days.

    Simon Gilbert Announcement

You mean the Lib Dem Daily? Its bloody awful and the football coverage is the worst. That's not surprising though seeing as a Villa fan from Nuneaton is chief sports writer.

    Time for a trust statement

No idea. Think a lot of people were so into a new stadium by that point there wasn't much rational thought put into anything. In an ideal world the council would have come in with a fresh pair of eyes and realised the whole thing was bonkers and looked for alternatives rather than taking over...

    Car advice

All the taxis down here are Octavia's so I guess they're pretty reliable and cheap to run.
