Coventry Sphinx & Coventry United Thread

How do they generate the money to pay players? The crowds are tiny and there can't be that much in sponsorship.

On the plus side my work PC doesn't go into meltdown if I go on there now. Problem now is the Wasps adverts take up even more of the page.

Yep, they spent a fair bit on a fancy partitioning system that can turn the stadium into pretty much any size room you want, they can also set it up so its not noticeable that you're in the stadium bowl.

    Mortgage advice

I'm always cautious with this type of thing as I'd worry too much that the interest rate would suddenly shoot up if I was on a variable. Think I read that the Coventry are doing a 25 year fix now.

    Shooting in Coventry?

Are any / all of these going to be linked? The stabbing could be a random nutter but someone being shot in the park and then someone found dead and another attempted murder. Bit unusual for so much to happen at once isn't it?

    Red dwarf x tonight!

Not sure if you're joking or not but Chris Barrie let slip at a comic convention last year that the BBC had commissioned a script from the original writers for a one off (possibly Xmas) return.

Apparently it has become vital to establish exactly what Arena 2001 Ltd spent money on for some reason. But who paid for them and where do they show on the accounts ;)

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/03732876/filing-history What is there to jump on CCC for? They are not claiming the £1.8m shown in the construction completion report is the only money CCFC ever put in to a new ground project.

So you think the accounts are fraudulent and Higgs conspired with this, or at the very least were unable to notice what you have, when they made a purchase using a price based on the figures contained in those fraudulent accounts? Which part(s) do you believe to be incorrect?

So you accept that £6,808,425 was put in but don't know what it was spent on? Don't really see why that matters if you accept the money was put in.

Incorrect. Football Investors Limited (a company formed in 2001 by CCFC) purchased 50% of Arena Coventry Limited for £2m. That will be the money shown in the construction report as that would have been paid to the freeholder. That is also the loan from Derek Higgs, Robinson and McGinnity which...

Not sure why this is suddenly being made out to be so complicated or new information. Its been sat on the Sky Blues Trust website since 2014 and it was available in the various accounts prior to that. http://www.skybluetrust.co.uk/index.php/club-information/timeline/357-ricoh-arena-timeline?showall=

May come as a surprise to you but I don't keep a record of all your past posts so if you just post 'when I said CCC would "Bend over backwards" to help CCFC' I assume thats what you said. Don't think its as simple as SISU leaving through. Look back before SISU arrived and the way the council...

CCC, as it is now, will not bend over backwards to help CCFC but that doesn't mean things may change in the future. If CCFC are doing well and the Butts was sold out every week I would hope there would be pressure on the council to assist in any new stadium project.

    Shooting in Coventry?

The big car park (the one where the travellers go) is bad for that. The smaller car parks, the one at the top of Leamington Road and the ones of Coat of Arms Bridge Road, seem to always have several cars in them when I drive past on the way home late at night.
