Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

Great news. As for the pool surely that now doesn't need to go where the indoor pitch is or a new indoor pitch can be built where Wasps were planning to go. Pool plans will surely need to be changed anyway as they previously included facilities linked to rugby which won't now be needed - not...

Is he skint? Would have thought he'd have earned enough not to need to do things like this.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Not to pick on Astute but this highlights the problem all parties have in getting economic policy over to the masses. Even in sound bite form people struggle so when you drill down into the detail you've already lost the interest of most voters.

Best thing to do with VAT is overhaul the essentials list which is a complete mess. Anything that is genuinely an essential zero rate. Nobody can really argue against paying VAT on non-essentials As by definition they are things you don’t have to have.

    Stewards at the CCFC-WBA game

In the absence of the SCG someone needs to email that new chap (the one that isn’t Fisher). If you buy multiple tickets on the gate they should be together, can’t see that being too hard to sort out.

Just having breakfast in Stockholm. Can see into the arena from the hotel restaurant. The first of two Sens v Avs games tonight - can’t wait.

    Harvey Weinstein / Sex Scandals

Haven’t Louis CK and Segal both been accused in the past? Louis CK’s manager handles a lot of big names in US comedy and it looks like he’s been very active in covering this up over the years, be interesting to see how his other clients respond. Jeremy Piven posted this and he has a point...

    Ashes 17/18 Thread

I can't see past 5-0 at the moment. England don't seem in great form and leaving Stokes out has removed any chance of being competitive. The injuries seem to be piling up as well.

    Stewards at the CCFC-WBA game

Stewards asking fans to sit in the right seats (looks like they might have been sat in a block that wasn't open as nobody else seems to be sat there on the video, maybe you just can't see them). Fans won't move to where their tickets are so others start having a go at the stewards. Simple tip...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Not being convicted is not necessarily the same as not doing something illegal. He got a VAT refund on the basis that the private jet was solely for business use. His social media clearly shows the jet regularly used for non-business purposes. So how is he legally entitled to the refund? Maybe...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Not really, with respect to Hamilton the law is clear. He's only entitled to the VAT refund if the jet is solely for business use. Not really sure how a two day holiday with his mates comes under business use. The point about financial advisors and accounts writing the laws was with reference...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

How is it legal? He claimed a VAT rebate of £3m he was only entitled to if the jet was used solely for business, 30 seconds on his social media is enough to see it was also used for personal trips. Not to mention that some of these things aren’t loopholes. As Panorama showed those responsible...

    Christmas Decorations

Miller & Carter is opened but they’re doing Xmas Dinner and will likely be rammed. Las Iguanas isn’t a place that comes to mind for me if i was thinking of somewhere to go Xmas Day. Suppose you’ve got people who don’t celebrate Xmas but would they bother going into town when everything else is...

Doubt I'll bother putting any up. Its only me and the dog so seems a waste of time and money. Someone on the opposite side of the road has had theirs up for a few weeks already.

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

It surely depends what that opportunity is and how much we're talking about. Some bloke realising he can claim a few quid in tax relief because he washes his uniform at home is a long way from companies registered off shore to avoid millions in tax. Looks at Hamilton's jet purchase. I doubt...

    Dale Evans .......

To be fair to CWR its a phone in show and they let any idiot on. Clive did ask him where his money had come from etc and his answers were vaguely plausible. But of course as soon as you put yourself up on the radio people will start digging and it very quickly became clear a lot of what he said...

    Technology Christmas List

My MacBook Air and iPad are both 5 years old and could do with replacing but nobody is buying me something that expensive! Would like an iPhone X but can't really justify the cost. Will get a bigger TV at some point but at the moment I'm renting and there's a decent enough LG there so no point...
