    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

There was this earlier in the week as well: Hospital closes A&E and stops accepting patients after new virus outbreak | Metro News I totally understand one of the aims of lockdown was to avoid overwhelming the NHS but that shouldn't be the only measure. Even if hospitals aren't overwhelmed its...

Would be easy to disprove wouldn't it? Anyone can access the information online at the Land Registry for £3. He has certainly been on the electoral roll there, you can check that for free. Did laugh at the first defence of this I saw on twitter. Doesn't count as a second home as its only in his...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Sounds like they're just going through the motions so there will be no legal issues later. They've considered proposals from other clubs but are going ahead with the originally proposed options. The bit they've missed out of their statement is that while the articles do allow the clubs to...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Am I missing something here? Find it concerning talking about using the Midlands as some sort of test to see if things can be opened without killing more people. Not helped by the fact Street mentions things like "economic driver" but no mention for public health. West Midlands region seeking...

What's everyone watching while on 'lockdown'?

Christ, The First Team is bad. How on earth did this get on TV?

Surely they'll only go back if there's games to be played?

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Not sure there would be a great deal to gain by getting everyone back in for a couple of weeks before the summer holiday. Just checked the schools local to me and they all seem to be saying they can't take all pupils back while maintaining social distancing. So its either continuing to act...

Not sure I'd take much comfort in that if I'd lost months with a parent / grandparent due to the governments incompetence.

Lets assume that to be the case what do you believe has caused the additional 55K non-covid excess deaths?

Might just be Championship so nobody can doubt the teams coming up.

    New Shirt(s) 2020-21

Agreed. The one they did a few years ago was a bit of a misfire. Nice idea but didn't really work for me.

What are you currently listening to?

Didn't we used to have a gigs thread? Can't find it now. Increasingly thinking I wouldn't be going to another gig this year. Gigs that were postponed in April / May and moved to later in the year are now being cancelled completely. I've got nothing in the diary until November now. NEC have...

If you became rich beyond your wildest dreams......

Are you keen on not being rich for very long? If we're talking ridiculously rich I'd sort a ground out and make sure it was owned by the fans somehow so a future owner couldn't screw us over but wouldn't really want to be the owner. Too much of a headache. Might get involved with the Blaze...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Seems to not reply when she doesn't have an answer. Kept referring to EFL regulations that I couldn't find any record of, others have had the same issue, anyone who asked for details of the regulations was ignored.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Just had a quick look at the league one tables at the end of March for a few seasons prior to the ones Tranmere have decided to use in their calculations and surprisingly enough it seems that the last three years seem to be rather exception in terms of teams making late runs to avoid relegation...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

How have you got that number? The data Tranmere posted on their website for PPG has you finishing on 41 points and Wimbledon one place above you on 44. Problem is there's multiple 'reasonable' scenarios, how reasonable seems to depend on which team you support. Simplicity is the key here. As I...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Great news about the Nissan plant in Sunderland, obviously not so good for Barcelona. Hopefully its all above board and isn't reliant on the government promising to cover the cost of any negative impact due to Brexit. Nissan was offered secret state aid to cope with Brexit, minister concedes

Hard to use that as a defence when you've spent days insisting there was no breach at all.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

The EFL have already put forward the proposal to be voted on having had multiple meetings to discuss alternatives. 13.3.3 states the league is under no obligation to include any resolution proposed by a member club to change the regulations.
