Forum Statement on New Stadium Announcement

The club will have far more data on ticket sales than we have. I know we like to think SISU are clueless but does anyone really think they're goi g to build a 15K stadium if the data tells them they can sell 25K tickets every week? People seem to have taken the lowest figure that was mention in...

    Site confirmed for New stadium

I think this is where the partnership with the Uni could really work in our favour. If someone objects saying you can't get 20K people to the site you can point out that there's over 6,600 staff and 26,500 full time students that get in and out. And if planning is needed for any infrastructure...

    Site confirmed for New stadium

He's one of my councillors so I'll be sending in an email to let him know I'm not happy with his comments. To be honest I expected it to be uproar around here when it was suggested as the locals like to object to anything but its been overwhelmingly positive so far. Maybe as the local...

    Site confirmed for New stadium

What route maps are you looking at? The initial plan was supposed to be for the first line to go city centre to Walsgrave Hospital and then extend out the other way to service the Uni. Unless that's changed that should be useful. There's also the proposed Kings Hill rail station would could...

Think you might need to go a little bit south as I believe the uni have plans to put a massive car park there. Although that could all tie in and the location of the stadium and car park compliment each other.

Forum Statement on New Stadium Announcement

If we're in the Prem and there is a demand the expansion will be carried out to 35K which would currently be the 11th biggest ground in the PL. Is that not enough? How much larger does the proposed capacity need to be to satisfy you?

New Stadium - The pessimist's view...

Has anyone actually said this? The only comments I've seen around capacity are people agreeing with the club that you don't build a stadium for crowds you don't get. Where is this idea that a stadium that can be up to 35K if required makes us a minor club coming from?

Forum Statement on New Stadium Announcement

Looking at our attendance history if you're not happy with an initial 20K rising to 35K if required what capacity would be enough to not be "fucking pathetic"? Should we build a 60K stadium like Arsenal & Spurs and just hope it doesn't bankrupt us before we reach a point where we need to use...

New Stadium - The pessimist's view...

Needing to match the size of the Ricoh is a bit misleading IMO as the Ricoh was never designed to be full ever week. If anyone went to one of those meetings with Richardson where he showed you the model of the new stadium he had in the HR boardroom he was very clear that the stadium capacity was...

New Stadium - The pessimist's view...

Is that £106m just for the land and building required for the stadium itself or the entire complex (hotel, arena, shopping centre etc) that was built as part of the project?

Sounds positive, will give it a listen for myself later. Hopefully the penny has finally dropped. Even people like Matton must see the response to his tweet yesterday and realise the public support they had is disappearing.

We started bigger at the Ricoh and for years have had one of the emptiest grounds in the country. The way to indicate to our owners we need a bigger capacity is for people to turn up.

    Fans allowed in? - Updated!

Getting closer. Warwickshire members being allowed into Edgbaston for their friendly against Worcester. Reduced capacity and you have to reserve your seat.

    Villa out of bottom 3

Good chance Villa could stay up thanks to Hawkeye not being switched on in the Sheff Utd game.

    Russia Report

On the one hand its comical how much happens in such a short space of time but on the other hand it is very worrying that pretty much on a daily basis we are seeing multiple things that 10-15 years ago would have, at the very least, been a serious issue for the government. This is all going on...

    Football is back!!!! Premier League

FFS, Watford getting hammered and have lost their goal difference advantage over Villa. If Villa beat Arsenal tonight they are out of the relegation zone with one game to go. That will be against West Ham who are already safe.

    Shamima Begum Not Allowed Back.

Under what legal framework? The SDF are currently detaining her while an acknowledged legal process is worked through. What is being suggested is that we ignore the law and do our own thing. Should that happen for what reason would the SDF continue to hold her and prevent her travelling to the UK?
