    Rebecca Long-Bailey sacked

Had a quick google to see if there is any truth to it and this came up from Amnesty which seems to suggest US police receive training from Israeli forces: Where Do Many Police Departments Train? In Israel

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Find it so sad. When lockdown first started we saw how quickly things changed environmentally. May only have been superficial but it was glaring obvious. Had hoped that might make people consider their behaviour but obviously not.

"trust in the common sense of the British people to carry us though and see us to victory" - Boris Johnson earlier this week announced the easing of lockdown restrictions. Major incident declared in Bournemouth as thousands of people flock to beaches

    George Floyd

Indeed but the same principle of funding other services properly so the emergency services aren't left to sort issues better dealt with by specialist services still applies. The fact everyone is armed in the states amplifies the issues there. You're not going to get the police shooting and...

Agree its not good but what do you use instead? People are struggling with the concept of Black Lives Matter and you can't really get a simpler message than that.

Defund the Police makes more sense in the US where budgets are spiralling out of control while training is minimal. The principle can be applied here as well. It doesn't actually mean no funding for the police and have everything be a free for all, although as with all things there are some...

Just going off what the police have said - an unlicensed music event. Seems to be a few of them about at the moment, was one in Trafford with 3 stabbings and a rape. Idiotic to have at the best of times but especially at the moment.

If you're referring to Brixton the violence was at a block party. The Black Lives Matter event ran 1-7pm and I can't find any reports of issues at that.

Exactly, a perfect example of why they are campaigning. Yet the government aren't even prepared to discuss it. As has been mentioned before in this thread there's 375 recommendations in various government reports into racism that have yet to be implemented yet rather than actually do something...

Specific things have been put forward. For example yesterday Gavin Williamson, the Education Secretary, refused a meeting request from Black Curriculum UK. They are a group who have carried out research into the teaching, or lack of, black history in schools. Their report concludes that without...

    All purpose cricket thread

ECB have announced that they have carried out 702 tests on players, support staff, match officials, ECB staff, venue staff and hotel staff. All tests have come back negative so looks like we'll be getting some test cricket in a few days.

    Birmingham bull ring cleared

Think I'll stick to online shopping. Probably as much chance of it being gang related as a terrorist attack. Although never rule out some idiot being 'inspired' by what happened in Reading.

    General TV Thread

Figured it was time to start a new thread as the old one is 'new tv series 2019'! If you want to see where George Lucas got his inspiration for Star Wars (or who he ripped off depending on your point of view) after decades stuck in development Issac Asimov's Foundation is finally coming to the...

"A minute at 2 metres contact is about the same risk as 6 seconds at 1 metre. The risk at 1 metre is 10 to 30 times higher than the risk at 2 metres." - Sir Patrick Vallance, the Governments Chief Scientific Advisor.

Transfer Rumour Callum O'Hare - Confirmed

Bit early to be panicking, transfer windows not even open yet. We have no idea what Robins plans are for this transfer window or even if O'Hare and / or Walsh are part of them. Remember when we came up from L2? Everyone was convinced there would be no money and we'd be going with basically the...

    Genuine Question-SISU

Or not exist. KMPG had already run an administration process in all but name and SISU were the only bidders left. Their bid was allegedly conditional on no administration and no points deduction.
