    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

And according to the specifications on the hire document for the Ricoh they can currently provided tiered seating for 7K so nothing additional needed there.

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

Council would probably ask for the money back if that happened!

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

What will be the benefit to the local economy? Think that argument gets pretty weak when you compare it to the economic benefit of a championship football club. Looking at the history of the games judo plays such a big part this will only be the 4th times its been in the games. Last time was...

    Council funding for Ricoh Refurb

According to their website "Ricoh Arena is a world-class exhibition, event and conference centre" with "state-of-the-art conference and sports facilities". I really fail to see how they need millions in funding to put on a judo event.

Money for the Harrabins (Fargo) and Higgs (Drapers) as well. Seems a very small circle of people who always seem at the front of the queue when funding is being distributed.

This is absolutely ridiculous. How blatant can you possibly be?

I'm going to have to check to be certain this is a piss take before I comment on it, getting hard to tell.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Be fair, according to IDS it was 'buried in the fine print, unnoticed by many', how can you expect them to spot minor things like having to pay €160bn?

There will have to be a re-think

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

If a stadium ever happens they'll move training and academy there as well IMO. Ryton is in the local plan for housing isn't it which presumably increases the value of the land. Obviously would only be a fraction of the cost of a new stadium but it will all help. Pretty sure the proposed site...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

How would that work then? The EU aren't going to agree to reopening the withdrawal agreement so we can remove €160bn liability.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

A positive story for a change. Drayton Manor has been saved. Was on the brink of collapse and obviously has been hit hard by being shut for months as covid hit right after they had sorted the damage from Storm Dennis which had forced them to shut. Been taken over by Looping Group and all...

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Not directly related to the stadium but is local to the proposed location and will impact infrastructure. The Secretary of State will not be calling in the Kings Hill development. Should increase the likelihood of the proposed Stoneleigh Road improvements as well as the Coventry South station...

He needs to be playing every week at his age and it looks like he wasn't going to get that here. Good move all round, we've managed to get a fee for a player who was surplus to requirements and he will be more likely to get game time there. No nonsense from Robins again, same as when we went up...

    All purpose cricket thread

Its laughable really that the CWC didn't win. The coverage was exceptional and the final in particular with Ian Smith's 'barest of margins' commentary.

    Tommy Robinson

Would a house being fire bombed not be something that made the news? Would also be pretty visible signs of damage. Although with his criminal record you wouldn’t discount him doing an insurance job.

    New Stadium Announcement!!!!!!

Live in the area and the local councillors demanded a meeting with the uni as soon as the news broke. Thats what they've reported back. Doubt they're spinning it to make the club look good, one of them is Blundell who was straight on CWR being negative when the initial announcement was made.
