Simms is what he is. He’s capable of getting a decent amount of goals at this level which is an obvious asset. But his all round game is severely lacking with things such as controlling the ball and passing being way off. As a professional I’d expect him to be working on that relentlessly but...

I really want Simms to do well. If his confidence is high he’ll get a few goals. But it’s undisputable that his touch, passing and all round awareness is poor. We forgive it, and at Championship level for £3m it’s about what you get. But let’s not pretend he’s Regis.
