    RIP Labour

Every time I see a socialist on TV talking they say they want to fight the Tories. Why? Why don't they decide for themselves what is right and then support the Tories when they agree? It seems the whole movement exists only to be negative about what the other party thinks. Corbyn talks...

Petition SISU to sell the club

I know it makes us all feel better, but we all realise that this is water off a duck's back to SISU right?

    Westworld

I spotted this last night and assumed it was the old movie. I'll see if I can get hold.

    What are you currently reading?

I agree about Kindle; my daughter bought me one for Christmas but I'm a Luddite. My strategy now is to buy first editions on Abebooks and then sell them on Amazon when I've read them - I can usually turn a small profit. There are so many good books to read that I generally won't read anything...

    What are you currently reading?

Agree, can't walk past one without checking out the book section. There's also an awful lot of rubbish there but occasionally you can pick up a very good book for a song.

    Bigi...

Mowbray on Bigi: "I think Bigi was magnificent today – his energy, his drive, his quality. He’s growing into a leader. He’s still a young boy but he cares very much about this football club. I can hear him in the dressing room and he gets disappointed some times with the decisions of other...

    What are you currently reading?

I'm nearly finished Paul Auster "The Book of Illusions". I'm going to squeeze in a cheeky Magnus Mills next. Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead are both on my shelf for future use - are they good?

Someone else posted this first - I was looking for it as I assumed this thread. Great call whoever it was, this is excellent and I keep playing over and over

    Match Thread Gael

To be fair, it's not easy judging football players. It's the start of the season and we've all just had a long break, we are bound to be rusty. Many of us are also young lads learning the trade.

    Match Thread Gael

Convinced now on his potential though I assume? If he does go on now to have a smashing season, he walks as he's only on a one year contract isn't he? If I remember correctly it seems that Mowbray shared your caution.

1 x Centre back off a flat back four...

I would imagine his point is that he doesn't have a strong senior centre half to organise the kids. Ricketts now deemed too old. Hence with only two there he would feel vulnerable and hence wants three.

    RIP Labour

There's currently a 16 point gap between the Tories and Labour in the opinion polls and only 14 points between Labour and UKIP. Labour's percentage now lower than the dark Brown days.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Actually I'm not even sure what Right and Left means and I guess that depends on the opinions of the person defining them. It's easy to define extremes: on both sides they favour big state and control; on one side wanting to drag everyone outside the elite into being just above the bread line...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I don't agree that either the country or the Conservatives have turned right since Thatcher. I think that both are occupying the middle ground. The Tories have become more successful electorally in the middle which has forced Labour way left. Incidentally, if this is a Left wing perspective...
