    Your expectations for tonight?

IMO we are much better when we have a positive attacking intent. Need to go all out for win tonight. A defeat or draw is much easier to take if you know your side went for it... And a defeat so early on would be easier to get over than one later in the season.

Rubbish midfield since relegation from Premiership

The fact that you bracket Sammy with Freddy means that a reasoned debate is unlikely. Freddy was overweight, unfit, refused to go out on loan etc. Sammy performed underpar according to his critics. No other criticism of him like he didn't try or didn't care can be substantiated with evidence...

Oh well. Opinions are what forums are about.

    Coventry away support

In the last 40 years, yes. Mainly because most are pissed up, angry and disgruntled. Atmosphere is like a bad night in the roughest pub you ever saw. Many would happily abuse and pick fights with other City fans.

Rubbish midfield since relegation from Premiership

I agree. Doyle is emblematic of our decline. We have had poor midfielders throughout our time since the turn of the millennium. As I've said before we are far too critical of midfielders on the whole and tend to pick on individuals ... And argue about whose fault everything is. They should...

    Atmosphere at Yeovil

Low home crowds are not as shaming as high away followings in which a large, vocal minority behave like cavemen. That is far more likely to be noticed by fans of other clubs. Look at how the likes of Leeds, West Ham and Millwall are regarded.

Has Sammy Clingan been linked with anybody yet?

Whoever plays in centre midfield for City will get stick from fans here. The midfield is always under intense scrutiny. The diamond formation, the personnel, lack of width ... We always blame the midfield instead of looking at the bigger picture.

Has Sammy Clingan been linked with anybody yet?

Rich, You are entitled to your opinion about Sammy. I think it is irrelevant in this case. Players move on when they think they can get a better deal elsewhere. Sammy hasn't got a better deal... Yet. Time will tell if he succeeds or fails. It is in the nature of professional football at...

Has Sammy Clingan been linked with anybody yet?

Rich, Sammy has not got a club yet. None of us knows what he has been offered or rejected. It is all speculation. To some their prejudice fills in the gaps with.. He's crap. He thinks he's worth more, nobody wants him. No evidence, merely speculation. If it makes people happy to have their...

Has Sammy Clingan been linked with anybody yet?

No evidence that any of the players that left were even offered new contracts. No evidence what wages they were offered or asked for or refused. All is speculation, sprinkled with prejudice. Note, dozens of players have no club yet and many will not until the transfer window closes. FWIW I...

Has Sammy Clingan been linked with anybody yet?

Don't see any difference myself. Players listen to their agents and try to get the best deal they can. Some are turning that into an opportunity to sneer at Sammy. No need for it, in my view. No evidence that Sammy thinks himself any higher than any other player does, except in the minds of...

    Atmosphere at Yeovil

These fellas pay their money and think it gives them the right to shout abuse. Bull fighting might be more their thing. It is frankly depressing following City away. The moron fans make it a grim experience for other supporters. My last game was Forest away and it will be a long time before I...

Has Sammy Clingan been linked with anybody yet?

Keogh went to an average Champ club on more money ... Not the move he would have hoped for. Cardiff and Bristol City were not prepared to pay more as they thought he wasn't worth it. He would have only been a squad player at Cardiff, not first choice.

Has Sammy Clingan been linked with anybody yet?

Both Cranie and Keogh had to settle for a lesser move than they had hoped for and, I'm guessing, their agents promised. Sammy will be the same, but let's not let that stop us having a dig at Scapegoat Sammy and leaving Keogh and Cranie alone. Prejudice confirmed.

    People who doubt Andy Thorn...

My main question about AT involves the pace and movement in the side. Whatever formation he adopts can he get his players doing what every successful side does when it has the ball...move the ball swiftly and accurately, move into space and outmanoeuvre your opponents? Exactly what you tell 9...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Can't shake the feeling that Pompey will wriggle out of their obligations and the consequences of their appalling behaviour yet again. The FL seem to bend every rule to keep them competitive. They will pack Fratton Park tomorrow, sneak a win against Bournemouth. On the back of this bounce fans...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Would it not have been better to restrict the amount they can spend so that they can only afford to pay kids and non-league level wages? Why should they be allowed to spend decent money when they owe so much? Make them field kids and Div 6 types.

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Obita to Pompey Looks like Pompey will add him to the squad they are assembling. Rumours on Pompey sites. Baffling how the FL can allow this.

    Sammy Clingan

I would have him back like a shot. However, he was scapegoated by our fans despite 1) being played out of position all year, he is not a holding midfielder. He is a right sided passer who moves the ball to others. He is not suited for the role he played as he is mobile but not a great tackler...
