I wonder how far off Rowe is from having a chance? He looked favourite to play in the absence of Dabo early season after some impressive pre-season performances.

Scores on the doors v Blackburn

If we had kept 11 players on the pitch I don't think we would be comparing us with Wycombe re progress. If we look at the Swansea match and the first 14 minutes today I would say we had made a lot of progress. Unfortunately, the sending off stops any momentum that had been gained.

Scores on the doors v Blackburn

Okay. I will make an adaptation to my scale. I now have a 3 for very very poor. 0 for very very very very very poor is just too difficult to distinguish from a 1 and a 2.

Scores on the doors v Blackburn

Not sure what you mean by that question? I assume you think I have over-rated him? If so, then I think you have under-rated him. Someone who never stops working and doesn't do much wrong (without doing anything game changing) deserves recognition for that fact. Playing with 10 men against decent...

Scores on the doors v Blackburn

My ratings are 4 = very poor. It is hard to be worse than very poor!

Scores on the doors v Blackburn

I think it is harsh to rate the midfield / forwards harshly because with 10 men there is only so much they can do. Up until that point we matched them and almost took the lead. The majority did put in a shift. Marosi 6 (very good reaction save in first half. Distribution wasn't his usual...

    O'Hare, Allen and Godden

I totally agree. I think they are far too similar. Allen keeps the ball better and O'Hare has the potential to do something a little bit special, but he hasn't done so in the last 3 games. At least Baka would give some physical presence and would offer a different sort of outlet. However needs...

    Shipley

I am wondering if it was the after effects of the clash of heads in the first half? Probably wrong but to me he looked like he was feeling ill, rather than injured.

    Player Ratings v Swansea

Interesting difference of opinion re Allen. I seem to be the odd one out. I felt he had the work rate of O'Hare but rarely lost the ball and broke up play really well. I really like O'Hare but I think he hasn't played well the last two games. You could see how Swansea got very tight to him apart...

    Player Ratings v Swansea

I am old-school and follow the rating scales used in Match Magazine, when I used to buy it 35 or so years ago. So, I don't believe I am soft scoring, just a different way and opinion. 4/10 in any scale doesn't look fair imo unless someone couldn't be arsed.

    Player Ratings v Swansea

Marosi 6 (not convinced with his handling tonight) McCallum 7 (battled well and quick reaction leading to goal) Giles 6 (some good moments but should have scored and weak heading defensively) Rose 7 (used the ball well and steady at the back) McFadzean 7 (hesitancy lead to their goal but made up...

    Where was Dabo?

Does anyone know why Dabo wasn't involved today?

    Players ratings v Brentford

Marosi 8 (did nothing wrong and some good reactive saves) Pask 5 (poor touch going forward and far too much room given when defending) Giles 6 (one decent cross for Godden chance but otherwise ineffective) Rose 7 (steady game for first 90 minutes back after injury) McFadzean 8 (motm. Solid...

    Mason to St Mirren

I rate Mason and I understand that some fans have their concerns about his attacking ability in a wing-back role, but as we saw in the Bournemouth match the system was not effective. At some point (maybe sooner than later) we may need to revert to a back four. Then you are are left with McCallum...

    Time For some Perspective

Key for me this season will be the psychological side of the game. The team togetherness, fighting spirit and hunger for learning has been as important as the quality football and tactics. Obviously this is much easier to maintain in a win-often season. The squad will now need to adjust to small...

I don't think Shipley is a boo boy. I think, like me, most fans would love to see him succeed and recognise that he is still young and developing. However so far this season he has looked out of his depth. Some of it may be s lack of confidence but he also isn't working hard enough when he gives...

    Bournemouth player ratings

Marosi 7 (some good saves) Dabo 6 ( improved with the ball a little as game went on but no way near on his game - still gaining match fitness) Giles 6 (went missing for one goal. Nice touch and pass to O'Hare first half but nothing else) Hyam 8 (motm. Could have been an embarrassing scoreline...

Reality check. Bournemouth far more quality and gamesmanship. Cook won't be the last to wind up Hamer. Needs to learn quickly. Think Cook should have gone too. I do think that Robins would have been better to play 2 up ( Godden and Baka). Baka will ruffle feathers and they needed to be stretched.
