    VAR

Agree with this, don’t really understand why they don’t show stuff on the big screen. Obviously it makes sense for those in VAR HQ to bring the referee’s attention to incidents he may have missed/incorrectly interpreted but, as you say, follow rugby’s example where the TMO is generally...

    Rugby World Cup

Agree with all of that apart from the “have to have played” tag. Never played rugby but feel I’ve watched enough to have a good handle on the rules. There was certainly some inconsistency with the holding calls yesterday but with SA committing more bodies generally to breakdowns it was...

Don’t know enough about the situation; have the non-signers now been dismissed? It’s actions like this that lead me to generally avoid supermarkets as much as possible and use local independent shops as much as I can. Granted, it works out more expensive but local community is something I value...

Come on, chap. You promised a link in ten minutes. It’s almost twenty now. Bet Diane Abbott can tell the time.

Farage wants election 'alliance' with Tories Ah, that plan of the Tories and BXP not colluding lasted long.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I disagree and am of the opinion that the media play a larger role than you think in the perception of both party leaders. I’m not going to claim that it’s all the media and have actually specified that some of the coverage around being a poor leader is correct. I also don’t doubt that many are...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

There are two reasons I think Labour may struggle in this election. Firstly, the remaining fractures within the PLP that undermine a lot of the good policy work done, and secondly the media portrayal of Corbyn that has been embedded since he came to become leader. From my experience, many people...

Surprises me that you can’t have dual-citizenship, honestly didn’t know that. My grandparents must have foregone their British citizenship in that case.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

A debate isn’t seeking out faux hypocrisy as you seem to have done here. For what it’s worth, I am in the camp that believes that Labour need to identify a new leader to bring about a real challenge whilst adhering to the same policy objectives. The key issue is that there isn’t an obvious...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Not at all. My point being I’ve seen you criticise others who have said that he isn’t the answer, then to turn round and say they will be voting Labour, somehow trying to paint hypocrisy. Is Corbyn the best person to lead us? Possibly not. Is Corbyn better than Johnson, Swinson, Farage etc? In...

Do you accept it’s possible for people to not think he’s the right person for the job overall, but he is in fact the right person for the job given essentially the very small shortlist?

    Ex Player Watch

I know that’s the generally accepted idea, that clubs are more lenient on younger players due to resale value, but thinking back to the Adrian Mutu case, weren’t Chelsea allowed to claim compensation from the club he signed for (Fiorentina?) after they sacked him?

Which is rather ironic considering the US pharma companies’ arguments centre around having market-driven pricing.

I’ve watched it on my commute this morning. It would mean a third of the current budget would be going on pharma costs. Up from £18bn (current cost) to £45bn, or £500m a week increase. Even if we were to send the bus commitment of £350m a week to the NHS we’re still having to find further funds.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Proves that this rhetoric that “the NHS is off the table” is disingenuous to the extreme. Yes, they may not literally sell off parts of the NHS but by agreeing something like this they bring the NHS to a point where it can no longer be supported by public funding and that’s that.
