    European breakaway league

Is this the real endgame? Sky quoting a senior figure at one of the breakaway six Premier League clubs as saying the ESL’s plans could be sidelined if fundamental changes to the present Champions League structure were agreed with UEFA and the 12 founding ESL clubs. Although the same source says...

    European breakaway league

Is quite funny seeing Sky and BT pundits, along with the owners of the remaining PL clubs, being outraged at the idea of money ruining the game. How anyone at Sky can turn round and say, with a straight face, think of the fans is beyond me. They don't give a seconds though to causing fans all...

We've only managed 20K average in our first two seasons at the Ricoh didn't we? Would love to think that we'd hit that again this season but after years of being told we're losing fans due to the owners actions it may be overly optimistic.

I think if we can get out of it we will. But I don't think this article really tells us much, more Telegraph guess work.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

The acceptance of lies is how we've ended up in a mess. The lies have got bigger and bigger and nobody has batted an eyelid. We literally had Gove on TV telling everyone we'd had enough of experts!

    European breakaway league

I don't see how its not possible. Its a clear breach of the rules. The Times reported that Richard Masters (PL chief exec) has written to the clubs involved reminding them of that and that the ESL will not be sanctioned and therefore they would effectively be quitting the PL. The question of...

    European breakaway league

This keeps being said but what does it actually mean on a practical level. Its not like the Premier League, Serie A, Champions League etc aren't sold to those countries. What is going to make the rights to an ESL so much more valuable? Not to mention the plan seems to be not to add more fans, or...

    European breakaway league

This is just a rambling nonsense. TV deals are going down because of two things IMO, over-saturation of the market and expansion of tournaments like the Champions League (to please the very same clubs now saying they are leaving) resulting in more meaningless games. The solution isn't to throw...

According to the BBC they want the Champions League to act as a qualification tournament for the super league. Pretty sure that one can be ruled out.

Suspect the answer will be get some people together and start one. Believe the club, and for that matter existing supporters groups, have been happy to assist new groups starting up.

    European breakaway league

I just don't see the attraction. The vast majority of games between the 'big six' are incredibly boring. If you've got a closed league of 15-20 teams then as early as 5 or 6 games into the season teams will know they have no chance of winning the thing, finishing 2nd or lower means nothing and...

    European breakaway league

Will people want to watch games in empty stadiums long term? Its one thing to put up with it in a pandemic, totally different when its because people aren't interested.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Surely the Labour Party have a PR team who should be checking this sort of thing out in advance?

Reading the BBC reports the press conference from the UEFA president was quite something. Talk of throwing clubs out of this seasons European competitions and banning players from playing internationally in Euro 2020.

    European breakaway league

Theres a subtle but important difference. The past occurrences have basically just been revamps of existing competitions. Yes, they have diverted more money to the teams at the top but essentially they still have sporting integrity. You can get promoted and relegated from the PL and you qualify...

    European breakaway league

It gets better and better, 'legacy fans'. Unlikely to happen but I would just tell them to go off and do their own thing and use it as the springboard for a desperately needed reset of the domestic game. Get finances under control and make leagues competitive. Said before what is the endgame...
