    5 yellow cards marks

That's not a bad idea. There was talk of Doyle maybe getting onto our coaching team when he retired, prior to him leaving us.

Mark Robins... One of coventrys greatest ever managers

My memory might be playing old age tricks, but IMO some of the best football we have played was in that season. Cantwell took us into Europe winning 10 away games. We avoided relegation the previous season, seeing Leicester go down in the process.

    Tyler Walker

There have been a few questions about where Walker fits into our team, can he play alongside Godden? is he back-up for Godden? etc. The lad has just turned 24 and is here for a minimum of 3 years unless we cash in on him. Whether he plays much this season or not, he is a proven goalscorer at L1...

Biamou still has lots to offer

To be fair, we were asking in previous posts, where the quality cover for Godden was coming from. New Player Incoming - Leo Ostigard post no. 77 onwards.

    Max biamou

I know a lot of people don't rate Max, and lets face it, his career goals tally isn't exactly inspiring, but you have to admire his bounce back ability. A few weeks ago he was effectively in the bomb squad, and yet here he is again in the team making a significant contribution to beating top of...

    Match Thread Reading

The big thing for me tonight is the team's heads haven't gone down following recent results. We are going to lose a lot of games, but if we can bounce back like tonight, that is going to be one of our biggest assets.

    Experience needed?

You might have something there. Can't we persuade Tony Mowbray to buy Kastaneer if he cares so much about us? (in Jan obviously)

    Experience needed?

Yes I understand that, but we can obviously only go for players who haven't got a club, until January. By definition those players are not in demand. If we decide we need someone for a few months that can offer us the experience we need, I don't see any reason why we should expect other clubs...

    Experience needed?

This reminds me of our first season in the old League 1. We were in a similar position experience wise, and then we signed Maurice Setters. We didn't get relegated!

    Experience needed?

I wonder how many clubs there are out there thinking, if Coventry bid, we'll outbid them

    First 6 games

I think they are nailed on for bottom spot, but you never know.

    First 6 games

Wycombe are an interesting example of the gulf between the Championship and L1. To some extent they were in a false position in L1 and were lucky to get into the playoffs. But they had a formula in the first part of last season that worked, And they won the playoffs against 2 good teams who were...

    First 6 games

What I meant was, we were competitive enough in 4 of those games to have won, obviously we won't win every game where we play well enough to win, and we probably won't lose every game where we are outplayed.

    First 6 games

Could have won 4 of those 6

Reading game moved to Friday night

Hopefully a near full strength team Hamer back, (unless he gets sent off again against Middlesboro) Kelly should be fully fit by then Hopefully Walker should be available unless he suffers any serious symptoms Any update on Dabo? (has his wife recovered?)

    Hamer

I don't think Hamer is the sort of player who would go down holding his face from a push in the chest, but I don't think he is the sort to walk away either. We knew he is an agressive player who would frequently attract the ref's attention when we signed him, unfortunately every opposition...

Had a good nights sleep ?

it would if we lost the other 3 out of 4, but I suspect we will draw quite a few if we can win once in every 4 games.

Had a good nights sleep ?

Last season we had Dabo, McCallum, Kelly, and Walsh in the team, who weren't in yesterday's starting line up. (McCallum coming on late out of position) That's almost half of the outfield team. Add to that the unavailability of new signings Hamer and Walker and a couple of others. Yesterday's...
