    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Conducting a fire drill in a Secondary school is pretty totalitarian, if you define it so literally, but there's no other way.

    School Protests

This reminds me of an RE lesson I used to do with Year 7 - Belief, Fact or Opinion? 10 statements to sort. Tricky to define the difference between a belief and an opinion but it used to really kick off over the statement: 'Murder is wrong'. Loads of kids had it down as a fact. I reserved my...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

There is room for a psychological study on why people are so angry with Labour when they haven't been in power for 11 years. Most of the media coverage tonight has been about Labour, when really the focus should be on the Tory victories. Very odd. It reminds me of the day City beat Liverpool 4 -...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Interesting take. I have never once had that conversation with my husband of 36 years. Clearly the secret of our success.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

As a boomer myself I take your point but I think it's a vocal minority. The latter (silent generation?), born 1930 - 1945, are more likely culprits IMO, but boomers get the blame. Those who remember the war would not want to repeat it.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

During the referendum campaign some on the Leave side were at pains to remind us that Europe and the EU were not the same thing, and, furthermore we could look forward to good relations with other sovereign nations. Now, it appears when any of those sovereign nations in Europe do something we...

Tv show finales that had a decent ending

On the other hand I've never seen 'Friends" and I'm a gal. I've not seen any of the other US series suggested on this thread either though. Don't really see the appeal of US tv. Sorry

Tv show finales that had a decent ending

Unforgotten was good. Six Feet Under set the bar for best finale after 5 series.

    Line of duty

I thought it was very smart. Option 1 If you remember the scene in the cell when the dodgy lawyer was choked to death you will recall Buckells was there cr@pping himself. It was a warning what would happen if he ratted so he took the fall for the top man. The real H will be revealed in next...

So who do we think will be leaving ?

I find it interesting that many contemplate selling Godden but not Dabo. For me they are in the same place - superb in L1, injury plagued but glimpses of quality in the Championship. I like them both but ... Neither are untouchable IMO

    Derek Chauvin Trial

One of the other truly depressing things about the case is how the racism in some people is so deeply embedded they can't even see it. 'You can't say anything these days without being called racist' 'I tell it like it is' 'I'm just saying what everyone's thinking' 'He was a criminal' 'He...

    European breakaway league

If you're as old as me you will remember when the big six were Forest, Vile, Leeds, Ipswich, Liverpool and Derby. The current big six have gamed the system for long enough. Kick them out and allow new clubs to fill the void. Of course they will need decent players so make joining the rebels...

I want to see more of this from Starmer. Take no shit from anyone Put some stick about. No nuance or fence sitting. People respect it even if they disagree. Being mealy mouthed will get him nowhere

Personal choice, of course but the current tops are definitely men's. Look at the size guide on the ccfc store and you'll see. Men's cut is definitely different. Try on a large shirt in a woman's size if you want to see the difference. Some women don't mind wearing men's clothes but I think a...

Thanks for a thoughtful response. I think if I knew the answers to the first questions I could gauge whether there is any scope for one. Maybe all the other women supporters wouldn't be interested in one, which is fair enough. It strikes me that the women supporters are silent - none on...

Women supporters: 1) Do the club have accurate figures on how many women supporters they have - season tickets, casuals? If not, why not? 2) Do the club survey their women supporters to canvass their opinions? If not, why not? 3) Does the club have any plans to offer replica kit in women's...

    European breakaway league

What's really p!ssing me off is the media focus on the fact that fans of the Big Six are against it. Are we to conclude that if they are OK with it all is well? How about asking fans of all the rest of the football pyramid? This must be fought tooth and nail or the game as we know it is gone...
