    Player ratings v Leicester

At least Godden had two of his shots on target and movement was excellent. Simms was truly awful first half. Passing, touch and decision making were nowhere near the standard. He was better second half but not impressed so far.

Match Thread ⚽️ Leicester City vs Coventry City Match Thread - Sunday 6th Aug

Encouraging signs. Back 3 have been very good, especially Bobby Thomas. He has been superb. Simms is struggling. Would be thinking of Wright if things don't improve. Eccles caught out a few times too but tough opponent. Hamer's passing is effortless. Nice to see Wilson looking strong.

    Wilson V Collins

If fit, Wilson. The way Collins played today, I can imagine going back a few seasons where we overplayed at the back and looked very shaky. Collins' distribution today was awful (luckily the open goal was missed) and he spilled a shot which could have led to another.

Match Thread Exeter City (a) 29th July

Only one game but I was disappointed in what I saw from Simms and Collins. Ladibieure looked much better on the right. Burroughs looks better going forward than backwards. Palmer was a class above, as was Hamer and Sheaf. Bink's looked very comfortable. Eccles did well in midfield. Godden's...

Has Burroughs and Eghosa gone to wingbacks with Eccles moved to midfield?

Match Thread Shrewsbury Away (22nd July)

Would have thought Burroughs might have started at wingback instead of Tats or Eccles as you would expect that will be his position. I hope Da Silva has nothing more than a niggle.

    Where is Jamie Allen?

I haven't noticed him in any pre-season photos, not even in those who are not in full training. Anyone know if he is injured, ill or just been given extra time off?

How optimistic are you feeling about next season?

Scanning Twitter multiple times a day hoping for a signing. People have mentioned it is early days and many other clubs haven't signed players, however I don't think there will be any Championship clubs with one centre back in their squad, and a 36 year old at that. We will bring in some loans...

    Transfer Rumour Panzo coming back?

It would be a steal to get Panzo back. Hopefully it will happen. Decent on the ball (mostly) and seems a good character.

    Retained List

I think Wilson-Esbrand will be disappointed with his game time.

    First idols

Ones that I remember - Danny Thomas, Terry Gibson, Trevor Peake, Peter Ndluvo, Kevin Gallagher and probably my all-time fav Cyrille Regis.

    Potential retained list

Defensively, we will be left with McFadzean and Bidwell with no juniors knocking at the door. It is going to take some rebuilding to have a workable defence ready to go. Desperately need to re-loan some of the loanees for some sort of stability.

    Eccles

He still is a little lightweight but he will only get stronger with age. Robins has said previously that he is technically very good. The goal he scored will give him confidence in that regard too.

    Signing Loanees Permanently

Yea, I never really liked loans as I felt they wouldn't be invested in the club. However that hasn't been the case since Robins came in. The loan players seem as dedicated and passionate as the permanent ones. Credit has to go to Robins and team for that and probably attitude background checks...

    Transfer Window

Gyokeres has made it clear he wanted away if we didn't go up. People are talking as though Hamer will be on his way too. He too has shown he is ambitious but as far as I am aware he hasn't stated he wants to go. Has anyone heard differently?

    Signing Loanees Permanently

I would have them all back. If Doyle wasn't so consistent, Panzo would have had more of a look in. I think he showed enough in the first half of the season to show he is very capable. McNally made a huge difference to our defence since coming. Very good in the air, which meant we didn't have to...

    Eccles

Eccles posted an apologetic comment after an early season personal poor performance. That said to me his confidence was fragile. For him to step up for a penalty when he did showed how he has progressed mentally. I think he is a similar type of player as Sheaf and will hopefully keep improving...

    Play off final ratings

Thought Hamer was going to create the winner. His injury was crucial. My man of the match. Considering we had a number of players not long back from lengthy injury - Sheaf, Allen and Palmer, it was an incredible effort. The penalties didn't lose it for us, the first half did. Rather than focus...
