Match Thread Coventry City v WBA Sat 22nd November 25 12.30 KO

No, West Brom. For Boro's first, I think it was MVE that made a pretty languid effort to try and stop the cross coming in.

I'd recommend watching the highlights back. Kitching failed to track their striker properly for both goals.

Not really. Making single digit IQ buffoons look even more idiotic than they already are however.... Now, that's fun.

Ah okay thanks you've really cleared that up for me and everyone else reading this thread I'm sure. Well I don't think I really need to break much of a mental sweat with you Fatso. It's probably on par to when I'm playing Connect 4 with my 5 year old niece. After a while it gets a tad boring...

Sorry just to confirm, one single game across a 46 game season proves your point? It's getting quite hilarious how with every post you somehow manage to appear thicker. Feel free to keep trying to checkmate me though. At this point it's like playing chess with a chimp.

    Championship thread 25/26!

Definitely an interesting watch. We'll likely be much more direct away from home so will be interesting to see how Ipswich cope with that against, with the greatest respect to Oxford, much better forwards. It looked like they particularly struggled with dealing the long ball / long throws as...

That was coming, they've been really struggling with the long ball.

Martyn waghorn interview , talks about his dislike for adi and robins

It's not really trope. At the point Waghorn signed, Godden had only played around half a season of Championship football due to injury. Conversely, Waghorn had played probably the best part of 350 Champ games by the time he joined. Bit of a difference.

    Rushworth

Well with respect, I've just highlighted why it is a bit ridiculous. At this stage of his career he just isn't worth anywhere near that. Just at a quick glance, Pope, Henderson, Roefs, Perri, Sa, Sels, Lammens, Kelleher, Leno, Dubravka all were bought for around £15m or less by their respective...

Trafford isn't a great comparison really - and he went for £27m + add-ons but yeah. He's a regular English U21 international and now England squad player with prior experience in playing PL football, is younger and he was wanted by several PL clubs. No, Ipswich spent £8m on Muric according to...

    Liam Kitching

I was referring to the defence as a whole. Although both Kitching and Thomas have made pretty rudimentary mistakes over the past two games - but, again, that's Championship football and they're Championship footballers. Mistakes will unfortunately happen.

    Rushworth

I very much doubt they'd demand £20m. There's no justification for that whatsoever and he's likely to want to leave.

With respect it's hardly like one legged pirates were played in place of Dasilva, Thomas and MVE.

It's potentially something for the coaching staff to keep an eye on but there probably won't be anything in it long term. 10 goals conceded in the past 7 games compared to 7 goals conceded. in the first stack of 10 fixtures. That also includes 6 clean sheets in the first 10 compared to 1 in 7...

The underlying stats point to the fact that they were overachieving and in a false position. They're one of the lowest for xG in the league and their forwards aren't good enough for this league. Still shouldn't underestimate them but I'm expecting them to probably start to struggle a bit...

Can we get to 50 points

Of course. Formations change, players come in and out and style is tweaked but what it seems like is we can actually react to those variables very quickly. Sheffield United, West Brom and Middlesbrough all have either started strongly or pushed us back first half but crumbled in the second. Our...

Can we get to 50 points

Neither did I really, but even before the red card I think the pendulum was already swinging in our favour. Their heads seemed to drop when Eccles' header went in. The fact they're a poor second half side possibly factored in that as they likely knew it wouldn't remain 2-1 for very long.

Martyn waghorn interview , talks about his dislike for adi and robins

It wasn't really that strange to be fair at the time. Experienced Championship footballer with a fairly decent record at this level. I didn't actually think he started the season too badly either. The problem was he was on a downward trajectory and after he had Covid that seemed to just...

Can we get to 50 points

Also to add to the above a high press - see West Brom first half and Wrexham as examples. If you couple the high press with moving the ball quickly as well as hitting our channels we often get put on the back foot. Conversely, as shown with Boro and in part West Brom although the red card was...
