Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Wednesday 11th Dec

Think we need to be positive in this one. WBA will test our defence far more than Millwall did. Certainly don't want to be conceding early, as The Baggies don't give up much, and will be happy to sit on a 1-0 and pick us off later in the game.

    Liam Kitching

To be fair, Lampard has yet to start Dovin, Allen or Thomas Asante yet either. CBs are rarely brought on as subs unless there's an injury or a swtich of shape. If he doesn't start at West Brom or against Hull on Sat it might be a sign all is not well.

    Liam Kitching

When Kitching broke into the team last season, he was integral in our push up the table. He was the kind of centre back we'd been calling out for. Nasty and physical. Like most of the team, his form plummetted after the Wolves cup game. He's had a few starts this season, and has been (IMO) no...

Match Thread Millwall FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 7th Dec

Thought we were good today. Defence has clearly been worked on. Did Collins have a shot to save? Going forward, improved 2nd half., but, far from our best. Lampard found a way to win the game. That’s the best Millwall team we’ve played for a few years.

Bagged one. Great shirt, and they've missed a trick not bringing this kit back

Frank is going into a cauldron tomorrow, what with his West Ham & Chelsea connections. We need to start well and nullify the crowd. Millwall will be pumping the ball into our box, and looking for freekicks anywhere in the final third, to get a set piece. I’m cautiously optimistic though.

    Transfer Rumour Robins to Hull

Have to say I was a little gutted when Chaplin went. Obviously this led to the Godden signing (who was immense) but I would of liked them both. We beat Southend on the opening game (before Godden came in) and our forward options were Biamou, Hiwuula & Bakayoko! Robins worked wonders with...

    Victor Torp

Sheaf / Eccles - Rudoni Torp That should be our midfield, in the 4-3-3 formation. Allow Torp to get forward, and Rudoni as the more attacking of the CMs. if MVE's form continues, I wouldn't be against having a look at Eccles there. I think he'd be a better RB than RWB.

    Ellis Simms

If Simms had started against Cardiff, we win the game. They had 10 behind the ball for most of the game when we had possession. At least if you get the ball into the box more, Simms is going to cause problems, due to his sheer size. We've looked good at home against...Oxford, Luton, Blackburn...

    Palmer leaving

I liked Palmer. He was superb against Wolves last season, and even in his worst performances, he'd make a chance. However, it was clear he was a luxury player, and wouldn't do the defensive work needed. If he was scoring bags of goals, and had double digit assists you could forgive that, but...

Match Thread Millwall FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 7th Dec

Dovin has to come back. Collins may be good with the ball at his feet (not a whole lot better than Dovin though), but how many saves does this guy actually make? Seems the majority of on target shots go in when he's playing. Kitching must start. The most physical of our CBs. Binks gets...

    Confirmed : Lampard Head Coach

During pre-season even Robins was talking about play offs, and having this great squad to have a real push. Few weeks into the season he's telling everyone to reign in expectations. I think THAT, very there, was the end of MR.

    Confirmed : Lampard Head Coach

Yeah, I got that feeling too. I like that it seems he's done his due diligence. This is a massive job for him. Would he have taken over at Preston, Millwall or QPR? Don't think so. If you looked at the attacking players at his disposal at Everton, a few weeks before he got the chop - Demarai...

    Confirmed : Lampard Head Coach

I think it is fairly balanced, apart from being a CM short. We can switch formations easily, 2 left footed CBs / 2 right footed CBs. Haven't seen many players playing way out of position this season e.g Eccles at RWB, Dabo, Sheaf or Bidwell at CB (all happended in recent times).

    Confirmed : Lampard Head Coach

Quite happy with appointment. Lampard has a definite point to prove, and his season at Derby & 1st stint at Chelsea were pretty good. He's a smart bloke, so has obviously looked at our squad and club, and believes he can be successful here. He'll need a good start though. He won't get the...

    Frank Lampard Rumours

There must be another name in the reckoning, along with Lampard. Unreported, so possibly a foreign coach. If King approached another club for a manager e.g Blackburn for Eustace, would it always be disclosed? Or can these things be done on the hush.

    Burnley Player Ratings

Kitching should start every game. He’s our toughest CB. Thought he played well at Sunderland but then loses his place Collins - I’m done with him. He lets in powder puff shots, that are close to him, and doesn’t command his box. Dovin needs to be back on Sat. MVE - Frustrating. The constant...

Match Thread Burnley FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 26th November 19.45 ko

Carr bottled it tonight. Burnley were bang average, but we were so defensive in the 1st half. I haven’t seen such a negative game-plan from us for a long time. Thought we actually did alright defensively in that half, but way too much respect given to the opposition. Robins wouldn’t have played...

Right who's the next manager then?

Just watched a press conference he did (in English) on YT. Impressive. Same vibe I got from watching Viveash’s first interview during L1 winning season . Charisma, and that steely eyed determination.
