Robins has consistently said if we lose Vik and Hamer it will require us to play a different way to create and score goals. Don’t expect like for like replacements ….

We haven’t started or switched to a loan striker in any pre season friendly. I agree Robins would normally be cautious but I think he’s currently worried that Simms work rate won’t work as a lone striker. I expect him to go with an experienced team and formation and try to stay in the game...

I agree I don’t see Eccles as a 10 either. Not clever enough with his final pass / shot. I do think he could make a good box to box midfielder though ….

He can have both and he and his agent know that. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t love being at Cov or value his relationship with Robins, his team mates or the supporters. It simply means he knows he is ready to move on to the next stage in his life and career.

I don’t disagree with these comments but my point is that this year the club want to own and develop more of its playing assets. We will have loans but not the same number as previous years. I think one of our 2 new strikers will be one of those loans.

I think we want to invest in our own assets rather than lining the pockets of the premier league clubs whilst also developing their assets. That said we will have a mic again this window I’m sure but with a greater balance towards owning our own players. I’m sure it was not lost on King that...
