Match Thread Coventry v Sheff Utd Match Thread - Thursday 15th Dec

I think City were unfortunate to be playing sheffield to stage their protest as any other club in the league, even Millwall, would have showed them solidarity. I dont think the sheffield base has the intelligence to appreciate the implications of being owned by people who just want to drain the...

cant get the commentary on the skyblues site having to listen through the sheffield commentary, they're being quite symphathetic to the protest but not very impressed with our team.

    So how many of you........

If we kept an all sky Blue kit as the second away strip not this white crap we have at the moment , with the understanding that after say two to five years we could all vote on whether to stay as we were or revert back to sky blue, id be up for it.

    New kit??

Well down Souffff this week I've been staring at them a lot and they've been mainly grey....

    New kit??

Probably one of the worst shirts we've ever had. The Pique Polo shirt in the club shop is miles better...and only £22!. Plain sky blue with white trim that really makes the badge stand out. Other sides don't mess about with the styles of their shirts ever other season. Can you imagine Man U...

Automatic or a day at Wembley

Auto's def for me. i was lucky enough to be there in 87 standing on the top step right behind the goal and my lasting memory was the amazing colour and noise. Wembley now has been ruined by making it an all seater, where the extravagant leg room in the upper tiers adds nothing to the feeling of...

    Congrats to Callum Wilson !

I usually hate teams that nick our best players but I just can't help but like Bournemouth. They are a little Chelsea with their Russian millionaire who has a football club as his plaything. Good luck to them both, I dare say there isn't a supporter of any club in the land who wouldn't want...

Anybody else still going to defend Pressley?

All depends on how we do. If we are top of the league and scoring the crowds will come back, slowly at first but the important top of the table clashes will still draw 15-20,000 if the game is important.

    Wilson in U21 Squad

Do we have a sell on clause? Could be a nice few pounds coming our way next season. Makes we weep when I see him described as the bargin of the season in the Bournmouth writeups.

    Fan Base

I've been following, supporting (late 80's to late 90's) and now following again Cov for the last 43 years. My Dad first introduced me to the delights of football watching Southend United in the old division 4 around 1967 when I was about 10, but as all my peers who were either following Man U...

    Your 1st Kit

Back in the mid sixties when I was about ten I got my Mum to dye an all white kit sky blue and sow some dark blue braid (cut from my sisters navy knickers) around the collar and cuffs. The socks were nilon and went a darker blue to the shirt and shorts which was perfect for the Ernie Hunt donkey...

    Anyway.....Wolves

If the Wolves fans show their colours anywhere other than the away end , will they be politely asked to leave by the stewards I wonder?

Man United fan crying on the radio !

20 or so years ago I convinced my 7 year old son to convert his loyalties from Man ure to the Cov like me. The first game I took him to was a home game against the Vile. We had barely sat down in our seats following our 2 hr drive up from Essex when we were a goal down almost straight from kick...

My son and I made the short trip up from Chelmsford. Its been a while since we've seen the sky blues and neither of us could believe just how bad Webster was. Was he carrying a knock or something? We both agreed probably the worst player we have ever seen.

    Pressley's Touchline Clebration

Ahhhhh what memories, one of the best if not the best City performance I have seen. Would have been happy with a point but the way we completely outclassed Spurs in every area of the pitch I think we would have beaten anybody that day. Rang up their club shop the next day and brought the match vid.

    Best Away Atmosphere

Wimbledon Away, (same season as the Spurs game to stay up) when they were playing at Palaces ground. God knows how many we took but we completely filled one side of the ground and turned it into a home game. I remember Dublin going around the entire team jeeing them up for it before taking up...

It would look ok if it didn't have those auful blue stripes on it. Whats the betting the shorts and socks are a different shade of sky to the shirt.

Coventry v Wolves Sat 26th April - penultimate game of the season...

Given that senario we could easily fill the Ricoh twice over with the City and Wolves fans that would want to go. I do hope things get sorted by then and a game which could go down as one of our biggest in History isnt played out at a venue that Wolves on the day could fill on their own.

    New kit.

What colour/style are the shorts and socks going to be?

The Hill This Sunday - Gillingham

Yes ok thats a good point, well Let me turn the question around then and ask whether people think that because the younger less experinced players in the team no longer have the presure of playing in front of an expectant crowd at the Ricoh, that their football has benifited and the smaller...
