Match Thread Coventry v Southend Match Thread - Tuesday 14th Mar

Phil Brown read the riot act after last Saturdays performance which he says was disgusting. He intimated that a few players were scared of going up a division , presumably incase they had to play harder, or not be deemed good enough to be offered contracts. This will either have the effect that...

    32,000 sold already

Really confused. I've brought , area 527, block 227, row 20, seats 8&9, but in block 227 which is below 527 the rows only seem to go up to 16 on one map i looked at. Is there a site anywhere where you can put in your seat number and see the view you'l be getting?.

    Cov fans are everywhere

I've lived in Essex all my life. I fell in love with the Coventry kit first around 67, and have been following and supporting them all my life. I brought my eldest son up to be a Cov fan...he had no choice really as I kept buying him the kit for christmas....telling him father christmas must...

    Oxford have singing section

I would agree with you if the terraces behind the goals were standing only and people were packed in shoulder to shoulder which helps create its own atmosphere.. I've been to countless internationals in the old wembley before it was changed to an all seater, I was lucky enough to be there the...

    Oxford have singing section

That's the whole point of a singing section, the noise they generate gets the rest of the crowd around them going and it spreads out into one coherent noise. You can sing as load and long as you like but if your surrounded by a large group who cant or wont sing , it will get very frustrating...

    Slade gone

Ooooow he won't be leading a team out to a packed wembley.... id be gutted. Has he ever led a team out before in which case he might not be too bothered?

What does Wembley mean to you?

I was there in 87 and and if i die and can only retain one bit of memory ...it would be that one. Better than my wedding day...better than the birth of three kids...better than getting your first car....better than your first kiss and sh*g....so if I cant get a ticket this time round, I just...

    Managers Since Sillett

No remember it well, Sillet in a tv interview. He might have just been repeating what the chairman had said to him mind you , but still a crazy thing to say in public. If it was the chairman that had said it to him first in confidence or even as a joke... I can only imagine how mad he must have...

    Managers Since Sillett

I will never forget Sillet saying after the final in 87 that..." now we will be able to shop in Harrods and not walworhs" . I remember thinking at the time how bloody crazy....everyone will immediately stick 50% on their valuation of any player City are interested in. They did...we paid....a...

    I just dont care anymore

Mate I feel your pain. I have followed and supported City since the mid sixties and lucky enough to see them at wembley twice in 87. My son was one at the time and when he was an early age, I took him to Cov games and brought him up to love the City. He has never known a City successful season...

    Wembley Seats

I wouldn't say it to my wife, but it was certainly the best day of mine. I went to the match with my best mates tottenham ticket. Managed to swap it outside with a guy with a coventry ticket that wanted the spurs end. The ticket was for lower tier and i wanted top so I got inside and hung about...

    Wembley Seats

Yes I was, top tier centre, right at the very back. Apart from the colour which was amazing the noise was incredible ...but spit. One side would be singing..SCORE IN A MINUTE whlle the other side were singing the Coventry song. And don't forget there were only officially 25,000 city fans in 87...

    Wembley Seats

There needs to be a singing area established otherwise the noise will be split and incoherent especially if there's going to be 40000 there.. Lower tier directly behind the goal would be best. .

    Checkatrade Final Rant

I have mixed feelings about spurs fans. My best mate is a fan and got me a ticket for the final in 87. Walking back on my own to my car after the match I purchased a sky blue teddy bear for my one year old son. .... who is now 31 and has seen the city win f***k all... a guy in a car full of...

    WEMBERLEY!!!!!!

Well thats good, if they get there again it will be been there done it I expect. When Southend got there the second time they only took half the first number, mind you that was done in Cardif at that time.

    WEMBERLEY!!!!!!

For me this is all about putting the club in the shop window. This is better than the FA cup for us as we can potentially take as many fans as we want as we wont be limited to the 25,000 per club . I dont know what the initial allocation will be but we will be able to apply for more and I cant...

    Idiots

Forgive me for being dim, but im from essex and have followed the Cov for about 50 years but only get to hear whats going on through this marvelous site. As I understand things SISU isnt a company with a brand name as such, that would be damaged through negative publicity like say British...

Anyone unashamedly climbing on this now ?

Its not the FA cup where each club only get 25,000 ...there will be more than enough for everybody. If we could get 50,000 plus for a side that will probably be well on its way to the forth tier, it would send out a massive message to any potential investors who might be looking to pick up a...

Match Thread Swansea U21 v Coventry Match Thread - Tuesday 24th Jan

If Swansea do beat us Id like to see them get to wembley, only for the reason that they would pull in the lowest support the competion has seen for a final and maybe force a rethink next season for an about turn with the inclusion of u21 sides.
