    The no loans strategy

I’d be surprised if we didn’t sign a new keeper, centre half and may be even a left back …. That defensive unit could look quite different come the end of Aug

    The no loans strategy

At no point this season as Binks been the first choice centre half … hard for him to be a yes if you are asking whether loans make the difference in promo or not. Panzo barely played after Christmas that season. Both good squad players but not the reason for success or failure in my view.

    The no loans strategy

The irony is that Vik and Sheaf both started as loans and fans were not impressed with their loan period. I do like loans with the option to buy.

    24/25 changes?

Do we need another 10 ? I think one of the reasons we have conceded so many goals in 2024 is that we have too many attacking players and the balance isn’t quite right … I think we might be better to have another powerful midfielder to match with Sheaf and Torp than a 10…. Wright,Simms, Tats...

    The no loans strategy

Our recent track record on loans is mixed at best Ayari … no Binks …. Mixed previous season JWE …no Norton Cuffy …. Mixed McNally … Yes Doyle … Yes The young palace right back …. No

    Sheaf

I think it’s highly likely that Sheaf will move on this summer. Not because DK wants to sell him but because the guy wants a crack at the Premier league. He was explicit in his interview in the Wembley programme. DK will also see COH exit the club on a free this summer, he rightly won’t want to...

    Next season

I don’t think it’s important to get all your business done early. It’s almost impossible which is why Aug is busier than June for transfers. I do think it’s important you get your Big transfers done early …. This is something the most successful clubs do well.

    Liam Kitching

I think Kitching will improve but he’s not the leader / talker we were lead to believe he was. Maybe that is difficult when your own form is patchy. I’d like one of the new CH’s to be an older players who can help talk the younger players through matches in the way Fadz did with Doyle and McNally

    24/25 changes?

I think the situation is different. The season before we were o my just getting a proper scouting and recruitment team and approach in place. if the rumours are true that we asked for first option on the Peterborough CDM, Kypriano, it would suggest we have already started to identify Sheafs...

    The no loans strategy

I personally don’t mind the odd loan but would only ever want 2 max. Unless the loan includes an option to buy then you really are not building anything. I would sooner inject dead money into 2 or 3 older bosmans that give the team more experience, match day know how, and help the younger...

    The no loans strategy

Ok can we expose some myths on loans …. 1) The most sought after players are not cheap. Clubs insist on a loan fee and the club pick up all / majority of the players wages. This means that loan signings are often the highest paid players at the club they join. It is not unusual for the loan...
