Well, yes it does open in under a month, but that doesn't mean we are necessarily going to get players in on day 1 in January, sometimes it doesn't happen until the end of the window. Those extra few weeks could be crucial.

That Starc innings has probably sealed the Ashes win for Australia. With a lead of 160, you would have to think that's now the win for Australia in this second test and there's pretty much no way we are coming back from 2 nil down in the series to win the Ashes.
