The reason I ask is that if we are going to lose our best academy players to the big 6, and those we keep rarely go on to have hugely successful careers what is the value of the academy ??

I didn’t say they played with a 10. I said Casedi is a 10. KDH was their most advanced midfielder and when Casedi came on he didn’t play as a CDM, which imho is what we need.

You said he can also play DM. I agree he has potential but I think our priority is a defensive minded midfield player who links the play like Matt Grimes, both another offensive player.

I’m not sure why you are choosing to die on this hill but he’s not a CDM. Matesca said last season that he lacked the defensive qualities to play deeper.

He plays as a 10. he will no doubt end up a good player but he was poor last season and we don’t need a 10.
