    General Election 2019 thread

steered clear of posting for a few days because, let’s be honest, pretty much all on here made their minds up weeks ago (as did I after the manifestos were released). All the mud slinging since has hopefully been irrelevant. I had to respond to the above though Fernando as there are genuine...

    General Election 2019 thread

Brutal monologue by Neil about Johnsons ‘no show’ ! Farage (love him or hate him) handled it quite well to be fair

    Film Thread 2019

Really liked it. Agree with other comments about how the actors moved (like old people) but can forgive that. Great film

You and Fernando are both right. He does his job well, very bright but also lacks the ability to empathise with peoples views he disagrees with (because he’s never wrong !)

Wouldn’t get too excited, fine margins in relation to key constituencies

Agree with regard to labour back benches. There’s some decent MPs on there and probably stronger than those in the shadow cabinet.

I think they did report it. Believe it was Hammond and he got slated as a raid on self employed white van man. Again, it’s not the actual tax change that’s an issue, it’s the argument that only big business and rich will pay. Just say ‘there will be some minor impacts on lower income earners...

    General Election 2019 thread

Think that was the leader debate SBD. Agree though, the Corbyn/Neil interview was only watched by 3m so don’t think it will make a huge difference over the next week or two. It was worth the gamble for him (to try to catch up a bit in polls and get some positive soundbitea out), not sure it is...

    General Election 2019 thread

I agree that the Tory manifesto isn’t particularly exciting. I think after the last election debacle they have tried to just play it safe (overly so in my view as I was hoping for a couple of big statement policies around housing/infrastructure at the very least)

    General Election 2019 thread

I was saying that I think he knows his wider policies (free broadband for all, nationalisations and resolving the waspi/pension issue) will directly/indirectly cost people on under £80k. It was also flagged yesterday that his costed policies also will to some relatively small extent (removal of...

Just to piss some on here off even more (apologies), one of the basic reasons for me voting for Brexit was to try deliver a significant change. As I’ve said before I recognise the benefits of controlled immigration (and need in relation to ageing population issue mentioned above) for those that...

    General Election 2019 thread

Haha, you know as well as others that post on the Brexit thread that I couldn’t vote for Lib Dem’s in this election NW !!! Revoking article 50 would be outrageous whatever your Brexit beliefs I wouldn’t rule it out in future though. Depends on policies and circumstances at the time Shmmeee - I...

    General Election 2019 thread

As I’ve said before, I am pretty much down the middle so labour lite or Tory lite probably suits me and is why I’ve voted for both in the past. I am 100% behind investment but money has got to be spent wisely and in the right areas. For me that’s people who need it most and infrastructure...

    General Election 2019 thread

Sorry mate, probably little hope coming from me I’m afraid ! If it was just the costed manifesto part I might have considered it...but it’s not. Unfortunately we’ll have to agree to disagree on the benefits/costs of the broadband pledge and various nationalisations but ultimately I believe...

haha, no worries. Yeah, something just doesn’t sit well with me with the pair of them (I think McDonnell is as powerful as Corbyn in their relationship hence me referring to them together) ie I think there’s more to their plans over and above what is being proposed/declared and I also done like...
