Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Labour and Starmer has got some really difficult decisions to make. For too long, it’s pandered to the view of its membership rather than the wider electoral base. If Starmer wants to ‘rebuild the red wall’ he needs to start by apologising for attempting to have a 2nd Brexit referendum and stop...

    Manager of the Month

I also think Ainsworth has done a really good job to take it to the last day of the season too (technically).

Arsenal / playing the ball back

Arsenal are just a really boring team to watch who make the same mistakes over and over. They need to stop trying to emulate Man City because they don’t have the personnel for it. Either way, Guardiola has adapted to be able to play more direct too when it’s needed.

    Sam Mccallum

I think we’ll probably end up keeping McCallum on loan. Is developing exponentially under Robins. There was a need to sell him when we did. But, it makes you think what if we held fire selling him until the summer as L1 champions?

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Our recruitment really has been hit and miss over the past 5 seasons, hasn’t it? Not like we’ve gone from a L2 team to a Championship one...

    Colkett training with Coventry

Viveash said he was the ‘quickest’ player he had seen. Wakefield was unlucky with injuries and illnesses and so on. Maybe he could’ve developed into a decent player.

Correct me if I’m wrong, I think Gibbo meant pace on the ball. Something Walsh did brilliantly for us is picking the ball up in midfield and driving us forward. Someone who was a fast ball carrier without having absolute pace.

    Jose sacked

I think the Serie A will suit his style of management best. I’ve got a lot of respect and time for Mourinho.

Relegation final stretch , who will stay up

Pretty sure even Rotherham fans have been expecting them to win a game for some time now! Luton and Cardiff are two tough customers. Personally, I think Derby will stay up. Sheffield Wednesday need to win against Derby and that probably plays into the home teams chances a bit more.

So who do we think will be leaving ?

Especially as we will no longer have Ostigard. Presuming we do not resign him. Defence is so important and overall, our defence improved as the season went on, but we gifted way too many goals. Especially in away games. I’m happy that we have two strikers who could feasibly score 10 goals in...

Deal or no Deal : Max Biamou

It depends on whether or not we’ve got options lined up or not. MR has hinted at a ‘summer of change’. Personally, I’d like for us to be in a position where can get a better player in. But, in fairness to Biamou, he has added value in some areas despite lacking that killer instinct to be...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Gyokeres could be a could be a good signing. He's a bit of a diamond in the rough like Jutkiewicz was. He's got some good attributes that need to be polished up and with Godden's injury record, he'll definitely get time to develop.

    Peterborough

I'd understand this thread had we got rid of JCH, and lingered in L1 or even got relegated. But, we got promoted and have two strikers who score goals. Robins may have had his reasons to get rid of JCH and perhaps that was a blunder to move him on. But, his overall strategy for club has...

Player of the season as of today

He’s been great in open play on and off the ball. Next season, he needs to be scoring more goals if he is to take his game to the next level! My POTY was Hamer up until around Feb, but his form dropped and COH stepped up massively.

Ultimately, if we're to stick around in this division, we need to have a solid defence and these two will give us a good foundation to build on.

    Liam Kelly

I suspect Kelly lost a lot of leverage with the length of his injury. Having that kind of injury for most of preseason would dissuade a lot of potential suitors.

    Why were we ever worried?

Agreed. Derby the worst home form when we played them away and we weren’t really at the races in that game in the second half. I was very nervy going into the game v Rotherham but didn’t think it was going to be all over had we lost.

    Why were we ever worried?

That is true and frankly, with a home record that bad, you’re destined for relegation. Our away record was pretty horrific before Rotherham and Stoke, but that was at least mitigated by a very strong home record. Our home record was ultimately why I didn’t feel as troubled as many on here did.

    Why were we ever worried?

In fairness to a lot of people, Rotherham did have Wycombe, ourselves and Birmingham at home as well as Huddersfield away. They just came away with 1 point from 12 which is why they’ll get relegated. Had they beaten Wycombe, we’d have been in the bottom 3 going into that Rotherham game...

    Why were we ever worried?

Even then we were consistently 6-7 points ahead of Rotherham... We had a couple of tough away games that we lost badly and a lot of people were simultaneously catastrophising our form and overestimating Rotherham. Cards on the table, I got very nervous when Rotherham pulled it to 3 points...
