    Why were we ever worried?

Me too. It wouldn’t surprise me if Wycombe went the same way as Yeovil. I hope not and hopefully they can be a yo-yo team. An easy 4-6 pts a season when we play Wycombe!

    Why were we ever worried?

In fairness, they had won more games than the teams around them including us. That said, they had also lost the most. Over the recent week, we’re now seeing why.

    Why were we ever worried?

Yes, because playing 3-4 games a week against teams who are fresher is a brilliant strategy. 4D chess!

    Todays games

Me too and it was the only game I missed this season! Waiting for updates on Live Score was excruciating! I was checking the score during rugby training!

    Todays games

They have the worst home record in the league and have lost 3 of the last 4 home games. If you’re a betting man, probably don’t bet on a Rotherham win. Friendly advice!

    Todays games

The feeling on this board was that Rotherham was an unstoppable force marching to Championship safety. They have bottled 3 good chances to stay up; Wycombe, Birmingham and ourselves at home and they came away with zero points. You could include Huddersfield too, when they got a decent draw. 1...

    Todays games

Teams on holiday because they’re a lot better than Rotherham are. I can’t actually see Rotherham winning any of their remaining games and they need to rely on Derby not winning again this season. Which, isn’t too out there, but they play Sheff W on the final day.

    Running

Personally, I’d prioritise what I enjoy the most. If that’s football, work around that! Generally, when I’m training full tilt, I accept that my runs are going to be slower because I have heavy legs from rugby and/or weight training! Hit the running harder when you’re resting from...

So who do we think will be leaving ?

Without being privy to any inside information, I expect there to be a large turnover of players. The squad needs to get stronger and at the minute, we have a significant portion of the squad that won’t cut it in the Championship and need to moved on

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Am I missing something because I can’t see why he would leave Luton? I’m sure he’d make a good signing. However, I’m confident that Walker and Godden could score a similar amount to Collins if they stay fit. Therefore, we should probably look for a player who has the right attributes and can...

    Ben Wilson

Maybe. But, he has conceded 3 or 4 penalties this season. Wilson deserves credit for exceeding expectations. But, he’s probably not going to be a reliable starting GK and it’s an area we can probably improve on quite easily too.

A flick through this thread really makes you grateful the people on here do not run our recruitment process.

Thankfully, you do not pick the team!

    Ben Wilson

My Wycombe supporting mate very much disagrees with this. Apparently he’s their POTS and has improved so much since he joined them in L2.

    Match Thread Preston (H)

I thought he played better today than in previous appearances. Played the ball well and won a lot of headers. Personally, I was leaning toward thinking he wasn't good enough for the Championship but today was decent for him.

    Match Thread Preston (H)

They gave us energy against Stoke in the second half. But, neither player is good enough to be a consistent starter in the Championship. I'm sure MR wouldn't have started the two had we not secured our Championship status v Stoke.

Stats figures for how much each Championship club has spent

Didn’t Sunderland and Wolves have one of the largest budgets in the Championship when they went down from the Prem to L1 in consecutive seasons?

    Sam Mccallum

He can definitely improve his goal scoring. But, with 7 assists this season, the claim he has no end product is ridiculous.

    Mark Robins

Our main thing needs to be shoring up our options in defence and midfield, in particular. I don’t have much faith in our options after the starters. It’s no coincidence that we’re starting to pick up results when fielding a full strength, and match fit side.
