Match Thread Huddersfield (H) Mon 25/09

Lets be realistic here. We are not going to change formation from anything other than 5-3-2 or 5-4-1 (box)

Transfer Rumour Who gives the OK?

Yeah it's somewhere in the middle of being blind and actually doing the scouting himself. But that's the point really, we can't point the finger solely at the scouts. Robin's clearly states he has a look and gets a feel for the player. So he's looked at Sakamoto and thought to himself, he's a...

Transfer Rumour Who gives the OK?

"They passed it onto me to have a look at and then you get a feel for them." Doesn't sound like MR is going blind into these signing to me.

    SIGNED!!!! - Tatsuhiro Sakamoto

I'd argue he's got the best cross/delivery in the squad currently. He put some very good balls into the box in the last 15 mins or so. Bit harsh calling him a one trick pony too. Especially when his "one trick" always appears to beat his man and results in a ball into the mixer.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

There's zero hatred. It ain't Wright's fault we've splunked so much on him.

Transfer Rumour Who gives the OK?

Dont entirely agree with bringing Simms into this topic. He is younger and has done well at this level previously. You can see those factors can add up to a decent fee.

Transfer Rumour Who gives the OK?

Agree with all of that. It's compounded by the money spent in that area too.

Transfer Rumour Who gives the OK?

Do you not think Mark and Adi should be running some sort of ultimate rule over the proposed player? Or is it a case of "if the scouts are happy, crack on"

Transfer Rumour Who gives the OK?

Who has the final say on our transfers? We have had a couple of strange looking transfers in the last window. Sakamoto - I am quietly impressed by him and his attributes. But he isn't a wing back. He looks like a winger. We don't play wingers. Was he brought in to play AM? If so, then why not...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Wright had opportunities to show his "strength (PACE)" last night. Did even look like he tried to get into full stride.

They also said that it was a "statement win" and that Cardiff could actually do something this year performing like that. I wouldn't have gone that far. It was an easy 3 points as they'll get all season. That's as bad as I've seen us against mediocre opponents since promotion.

    Signs are looking good

I'd argue the signs are looking bad.

I don't. Just suggesting that's the reason people will call for it. And I wouldn't be against it either, if the situation dictated. If we are holding onto a slender lead and Kelly is shot, then it's an option. If we're chasing the game then clearly we don't want 2 holding mids on anyway.

More likely the former. Save on printing the tickets, staffing the cash turnstiles etc.

For me the front line needs freshening up. Impressed with Binks and Ayari, so they keep the shirts. Wonder if Lati may get a rest after his international duty and then Friday match. We seem to have plenty of options in defence currently, any 3 of 5 is ok by me. Issues now lie in the...

He was very good last night against a quick tricky opponent. Was dead on his feet after 75 though.
