    Hopeless

I know how you feel and I guess most of us feel the same. I've been here since 1969. I really wanted to go today with my lad either to Gillingham or to Blackheath to watch Cov. Glad I didn't go to either now. Nothing ever seems to change and despite the fact that most of the first 32 years of...

    Somerset and the Sunderland outrage

My point is that it is like the incident at Highfield Rd that Sunderland fans obsess about. Cov and Bristol realised with a few minutes to go that Sunderland had lost and as we were at 2-2 both of us were safe. As a result neither side tried to attack and risk conceding a goal. We did it...

    Somerset and the Sunderland outrage

Replica of our fiendish collaboration with Bristol City to send Sunderland down 40 years ago acted out yesterday in the cricket county championship. Three clubs could win the title. Somerset in beating Notts would win if the other two, Middlesex and Yorkshire, drew with each other. If there was...

    Tonights phone in

It amuses me the way that Eakin or Linnell react to the first hint of anti-club sentiment. They could listen to the point being made carefully then react in a considered balanced way. They could do that and they should do that. What they generally do is totally over-react and shout the caller down.

    Tonight v Rugby Town

Thanks to the group of players watching last night who were happy to have photos taken with my lad and others. RCC, Marvin Sordell, Andy Rose, Chris Stokes, Jodi Jones, Jordan Willis, great to see them so approachable. I know how much it would have meant to me when I was 14!

Thought he was superb on Saturday. Wish he was staying another year.

    half and half Cov/leicester scarves

Blackburn won it a few years ago but not much made of that anymore so things will hopefully settle down eventually. I used to loathe Leicester but found when push came to shove that I wanted them to win it because it gives everyone hope and breaks the stranglehold of the big four or five, even...

    Pressley

Never sure why the mantra that he kept us up despite a ten point deduction goes unchallenged. That was quite a good set of players who needed to finish the season ten points above the relegation zone, and did. I would have fancied my chances of keeping that squad up.

Wasn't a famous celebrity couple who can't be named was it? Row over a threesome?

Is promotion still on for next season

Three deserved home wins in a row against Millwall, Bradford and Sheffield United has to be encouraging. All will depend on who stays, who goes and who comes in, obviously, but I think there are grounds for optimism. Five games ago I wouldn't have been renewing, now I am.

Like he really needs to do that.

    Aaron Phillips Leaving

Totally unfair on the lad. Football is a ruthless professional business with very little sentiment. He was good enough to get a contract, end of. Everyone makes mistakes and Aaron has probably suffered by comparison to a cup winning dad rather than exploiting it. Header yesterday and flick on...

    Reda

I thought it was fantastic to see him, Ivor and Lee walking up to the scoreboard and joining in. Great for fans young and old and not something you see every week. So will Wednesday fans now be slating him for doing that? Some might. Top man.

Is promotion still on for next season

Well things look a lot brighter tonight than they did before the last three home games!

Mirror Article - Most misery since 1992

Plus we need to throw in the stadium fiasco, and the train station! I think we should be in a Champions League all on our own.

    Mowbray cwr

Remember Beckhams penalty against Argentina, the redemption one? He put it about a foot to the side of the keeper but hit it so hard I don't think the keeper even saw it let alone had the time to react. Keepers must love it when the taker strokes it because unless it's right inside the post...

So where do we now expect us to finish this season?

It was there though, wasn't it? Within their grasp. A couple of years ago I'd had enough, the hostage situation at Northampton was the last straw so I started going to the rugby (Butts!). I went a couple of times at the start of the season and what with the buzz, the queues at the ticket office...

Does anyone still believe we're going up?

Be interesting to see a breakdown of contributors level of optimism by age range! I may be being a tad hasty here but I'd be surprised if many of the old school have any hope left.

It wasn't at one pint, that was earlier. Highlight of the night by the way was the lad who'd only had two pints.

    Player Ratings

Noticed at one pint their goalkeeper bowled it out to the right back who immediately played it forward and they were in our half on the attack. That's the way to do it. What we do, seemingly automatically, is give it to someone with his back to the play on the edge of our box and surrounded by...
