FA Cup Thread: Examples Of Media Writing Us Off

According to the most recent UEFA report the Man U squad is valued at over £1.4 billion, so by rights we should be well beaten. That said, this is sport so you never know. We are certainly capable of scoring and that must at least give us a slender chance. If we are honest few if any of us...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I know exactly what I stand for and I have previously posted my views. If you can't be bothered to read and remember what I said then I'm not going to repeat it but it's there in black and white. It's just a shame that my views aren't replicated by any one party.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

What utter garbage! Your assertion is that because I happen to like a moderate Labour politician my political views are "somewhat slanted to the right". Laughable.

    Clive Eakin

He's the Murray Walker of football commentary. His "Colemanballs" are an endearing quality and there is no doubt that he is a proper fan.

Using your logic I am a Labour voter.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Why do you think I'm a Tory voter? Clearly you don't read - or if you do you don't understand - my posts. I'm a middle of the road voter who over the years has voted Conservative, Labour, Social Democrat and LibDem and who - if Starmer wasn't the leader - would probably vote Labour next time...

Why do you say that? He strikes me as a perfectly decent moderate politician.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Why on Earth do you say that? Did you not read my last post?

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I really don't believe that. I say this as a middle of the road voter who under a different leader - possibly someone like Wes Streeting - would seriously be considering voting for Labour, as I have done in the past.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I don't like any party to have a huge majority because there is then no way that the government of the day can properly be held to account, which I think is dangerous.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

That's just nonsense. Of course there are a few far right members in exactly the same way that there are far left members of the Labour Party. To castigate the whole party as far right is simply untrue.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I hope not simply because (a) as I said in my previous post it is important to have a strong opposition and (b) I worry that, if the Conservative Party is in serious decline, it might lead to the rise of a far right party such as Reform.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I hope that the next general isn't a bloodbath because I think it is important to have a strong opposition in order to hold the government of the day to account.

My wife is a Wolves fan. I'm finding it terribly difficult to hide my big beaming smile beneath a sportsmanlike expression. 😀

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I did say that my suggestions were merely "a good start". They cover the key points but yes, of course, lots of other policies are required.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

A good start would be sensible economic and tax policies to drive growth by encouraging start-up businesses and the businesses of the future which must inevitably include green energy. We need this to generate the money that is needed to fund the NHS and other public services and to help the...
