But as I’ve said, we don’t know what the situation is with niggles and concerns over tiredness of certain players after Weds game (second away game on the bounce) Already mentioned ohare who works himself into the ground, I don’t think Viks been fully fit and we’re playing a team that we might...

I was referring back to the explanation, as in if Robins wanted an extra forward option on the bench then that would be his thinking behind it. I personally wouldn’t have minded seeing jones on at some point and whilst I’m a fan of Rose it’s very unlikely he would’ve come in on unless there was...

explanation does kind of make sense. Sheaf could fill in at CB, as could Dabo. Jones and Kane at either WB or even move to back four. Rose is unlucky but we have a better balance with JCS, who I thought was our MOTM. Rose might get a go soon instead of one of the other two though I reckon. He’s...

Not a bad half. They came back into it a bit at the end without really creating. We played a some lovely stuff at times without final ball. would take any kind of win today though ! Come on city

Sorry, I wasn’t clear Dave. It might have a positive impact on transmission but it doesn’t stop it. As we can tell currently !!

I don’t disagree mate. The interesting additional dynamic regarding mask wearing is that I guess it will help prevent spread of flu which is a big concern this winter so the reticence to reintroduce appears strange. I’m just personally a little sceptical how much impact the relatively minor...

I can’t really knock people for trying to get back to normal (I know I have). People not getting vaccinated or not testing themselves when they are around higher risk people is unacceptable in my book although some will disagree

Yeah, I agree, however, I suppose it’s what measures are acceptable/workable (and have a material effect) until that happens.

100% agree. Also one of the most important messages in the briefing was re-enforcing the message for people to do a LF before seeing a higher risk relative/person. Common sense for most but I bet many aren’t doing it

Yeah, that’s the only option but to what end Pete ? If it’s to stop nhs being overwhelmed, I agree and if it’s to buy time for people to get vaccinated, I also agree but neither of those are particularly relevant currently. If it’s to stop people getting it, I don’t want to sound defeatist but...

I think you and grendel are both right to an extent. We are generally testing more than a lot of countries, however, currently this will be partly due to higher transmission in the Uk. As has been said numerous times the main figures now are hospitalisations (Covid inpatients) and deaths. If...

All kind of context as well. Were they the only people in the carriage, the guy opposite could be her fella ? Has Gordon chosen to sit there just to take the photo ? Is she uncomfortable breathing etc etc ? I’ve pulled mask down for a minute when nobody is around just to get some air in. Gordon...

Spot on. Multiply that by the number of doses given out around the world as well There was a caller on LBC the other day (a teacher frighteningly) who was still refusing jab and sighted issues this young woman had...’oh, is this someone you know ?’ said the presenter. ‘No an American woman...

To be fair I think there was 230k + boosters yesterday and 75k first/second doses. I think if they can get over 400k combined it would be pretty good going especially when considering flu jab/other GP and backlog pressures. Also boosters are staggered (still advice is after 6months) ps agree...

Agreed. They’ll need take into account the percentage of population that’s been vaccinated as well. The data will be there, someone from NHS just needs to crunch the numbers

Match Thread PNE (A) Weds 20th Oct, 7.45

A frustrating second half, we never really had a sniff but we need some perspective. After a poor start to the season they’ve drawn against West Brom and Stoke (and also beaten Swansea). They’ve just been drawing too many games We missed a fully fit Vik. Hopefully he’ll be ok for Saturday
