So glad that went in, exactly the type of goal he needed. Hit it well but had the whole goal to aim at and it went straight through the keeper's legs. He's looked good today with his running in the channels and hold up play, was just missing the goals from his earlier chances.

Luis Binks looks like he should have been a member of Westlife (or any other floppy haired 90s boyband)

Not playing badly but we are extremely deep, midfield is having to cover a huge gap and when they do get the ball from the defence the strikers are miles away. That means they are either keeping possession (backwards) or playing a lot of hopeful balls over the top due to the distance a...

5 At The Back Needs To Go

Who is your 3 in midfield in a 4-3-3? My own opinion is that a 4-3-3 is incredibly hard on the midfield and they have to be very mobile and aware to make it work. Have we got those players?

I'm not even convinced by Sakamoto yet. Yes, he's got a low centre of gravity and he's tricky but he slows the game down so much while he waits for the defender to catch him up, just so he can skin him again, that Cardiff had reorganised and had a box full of players every time he crossed the ball.

Given the price we paid, his body shape and similiarity in looks, I reckon he's going to get a lot of Harry Maguire comparisons.

Only positive out of tonight is that Rob Guerney hasn't asked Martin Winch for his usual 'summary'.

Was thinking that challenge on Binks was 'Orange' given the lack of control in the slide. Not even yellow!

Your Thoughts On 5 At The Back

I could see a 4-2-3-1 working. MVE has shown enough to suggest he can defend well enough to play in a back 4. Da Silva has played well but not produced enough so I’d have no issues playing Bidwell. The fullbacks can still get forward in that formation. Kelly spent most of the league 2 season...

Players who always play well against us

Shearer 17, Rush and Cottee 14, Yorke 12 and Cole 10 are the record scorers against us I think. Remembering reading a Jim Brown article on it. Seem to remember Sheringham and Mick Harford had both scored against us for 5 different clubs too.

Match Thread Hull (A) Friday 15th September

I think that’s the point. Lyrically Blur are on a different planet. A thinking man’s band. Oasis were a stolen catchy hook band for people who like to chuck their pint in the air at England games.

Read that in a Liam Gallagher accent and spent 5 minutes wondering which Oasis song that was the opening lyric to.

    players on holiday

Deliberately bumped trolleys with a guy in the supermarket today, then gave him a cold hard stare. I’d popped in to grab some lunch on my lunch break but he was doing his weekly shop. Hopefully he realises he shouldn’t be doing that while some of us have to work.

    players on holiday

Some people have had a hard life and we’ve drawn too many games, so the players should be handcuffed to a treadmill for 2 weeks.

    players on holiday

There will be loads of knocks and blisters and bruises that we never get to hear about, players who have moved to England for the first time or relocated to the area. A few days off to rest and visit family before a full training week in preparation for Hull, might be exactly what everyone needs...
