Match Thread Portsmouth vs. Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 20th Aug

Loved the video. Think you're a bit harsh on Paul Williams, as he did the instinctive thing to clear the ball off the line, and wasn't at fault with the defending leading up to that. Correct about Shaw though. And then there's Dion......

Has anyone got any idea of how far away from starting Allen is - apart from Robins? I don't listen to CWR, but would have thought that might be a question he could be asked.

    Ex Player Watch

Having watched the EFL on Quest over the weekend, I was pleased to see a number of ex-CCFC players featured - one great save by Kieran Westwood, Richard Keogh playing for Derby, Jordan Turnbull scored for Northampton, Ryan Haynes crossing for Newport's winner, brilliant clearance off the line by...

    Easy fixtures

Having started last year with a defeat against Scunthorpe, who were relegated, and a draw at Wimbledon, who were 1 place above relegation, I'll take the 7 points we've got this season.....and whilst accepting we should have done better against Bolton, we would have won that if the officials...

    Didnt take long

As opposed to 1 point in the first 2 games last year against a team that was relegated, and a team that finished 1 point above the relegation places?

    Just an observation

Taking up the "How did you record it?" question, I'd like to ask, why did you record it? Quite apart from the fact that you are watching the game through a small screen, probably irritating others around you with your arm up in the air holding whatever recording device you are using, I'm fairly...

    The same old cliche

Who is/was Mick Hartford? I do remember a Mick Harford scoring for us though, in a cameo sub appearance

Coventry jump 113 places to enter TOP 20 European academies!

Completely agree with this - just watched a few old episodes of The Big Match from the 70's - including Arsenal introducing Liam Brady, David O'Leary and Frank Stapleton into their team (with several other youngsters), and wonder if they'd get a chance in today's overblown Premiership?

    Robins Q&A - anything of interest ?

Barnsley have just signed Mallik Wilks from Leeds, who was at Doncaster last year - so does that mean they won't be after Chaplin any more?

    Next Seasons Confirmed Squad/Transfer Rumours

Just been reading through this for the first time, and here's my tuppence-worth. Definately (Oh, my God, I'm H) need to sign a dependable, experienced keeper; but some of the names being mentioned (Westwood/Stockdale) would, I think be asking for more than we could pay. On that point, I recently...

    Just f*ck off Burge!

I just pity the new keeper, whoever he is, because we (apparently) haven't had a top class keeper since...............we were a top class/league club. Even if, by all miracles, we manage to sign Stockdale, I can guess what will happen if/when he makes a couple of mistakes.

    Cry babies

I've just looked it up and that same season they are moaning about, they won 2 -1 at Highfield Road, but we won 1 - 0 at Roker Park, in a New Year's evening kick-off, with Donal Murphy scoring the winner in the last minute. Perhaps they should blame him in perpetuity for scoring that goal, which...

    Keeper

And another mistake by De Gea makes it look more likely that the swap deal for him and Burge will take place.........

    Keeper

Looks like de Gea is the new Burge - slated for more errors last night. Looks like he might be available?
