    Sunderland pubs

Lets face it, its no worse than being named after a photocopier manufacturer or building society.

There's a dislike of Sheffield United primarily because in the SISU days, there was a protest at the Ricoh Arena during a match vs Sheffield United and the game got disrupted. During the holdup, (i think) there was an altercation in the stands where a Cov fan went through the segregation and...

You were very unlucky but don’t be too downbeat

Can't knock Sunderland for how they played. If they'd came out and played open football at Cov they'd have likely gone away a couple of goals down. Not sure we were "done up like a kipper" though..... it could clearly have gone either way. Its small margins.... missed chances, kamikaze...

    Hear me out.....

I would imagine Norwich feel that they will be in a similar boat to us next season, ie playoff contention..... so i'd be surprised if we had the remotest chance of signing him.

    Will we ever

We didn't bottle anything you fool. Against Luton we lost on pens against an arguably better side, having came through against Middlesborough going into the 2nd leg as clear underdogs. This year there was very little to separate us and Sunderland (in fact a 123rd minute goal was all it was)...

    Will we ever

I think a lot of fans (of all clubs) unconsciously think that getting to the playoffs equals promotion. Regardless of whether we sneak in in 6th place, or spend half the season guaranteed playoffs (like Sunderland), its still a bit of a lottery. We've largely dominated both games, and lost to...

    Running

I went up to the other side of Stoke On Trent last night to run the Mow Cop Killer Mile...... A 1 mile uphill road race with about 580ft of climb.... ave gradient 11%, but after about a km it kicks up to 25% gradient for a few hundred metres. I ran 8:28..... which is a guide to how tough it...

Playoff Semi Final 1st Leg Bristol City - Sheffield Utd 08/05/25 8pm ko

If we get through i hope Bristol City win. If Sunderland go through i'd prefer Sheff Utd to win.

Not getting a head of ourselves ….

i think its absolutely 50/50 vs Sunderland. Which, given how they started the season, is a testament to how much we've progressed.

    Sunderland forum at it again

I find them quite hypocritical...... Which to be honest is not massively different to football fans everywhere, but they seem to take it to an art-form..... constant references to Leeds and Newcastle being "arrogant", yet they believe they are still a top 10 club. They really need to stop...

    Play Off Final Holiday Clash

Should we make the final, i'll be on a plane between Rome and Catania during the 2nd half (and most of any potential extra-time)

    Schadenfreude

Well thats just football these days isn't it (and quite frankly why i have nothing like the passion for it that i used to) How many times on here do we have posts suggesting that we "shithouse" a lot more

    Schadenfreude

Really don't understand this. Surely they were just celebrating a victory..... are Middlesborough supposed to be outraged at us for our celebrations yesterday......

Match Thread Coventry City - Middlesbrough Match Thread - Saturday 3rd May

Good performance in general, but its small margins.... Middlesborough were on top when we scored and could easily have been up a half time. Game could so easily have gone either way. Pleased to be playing Sunderland, but really we need to take them apart on friday..... no matter how shit...

    20 years on

Used to go in the Forresters Arms (which we called the "long and skinny" on account of the layout of the bar). Then the Brewer and Baker. Depending on time we'd perhaps go in the Flying Standard before, and the Binley Oak on the way up to the ground. Remember standing outside the BInley Oak...

At least the championship will be interesting next year (assuming we're still in it), with derbies vs Blues and Leicester.

Well done all...... had a few from my training group do the Cov half (i think one came 6th), and there were three from the club at the London Marathon (quickest time 2:30) Talking of hot weather..... its now less than 4 weeks til i go to Sicily for the European Masters Mountain Running...
