Let's hope that's all behind him now

If Gus has any sense (and he appears to have) then he'll be leaving things up to his agent to deal with

    Transfer Rumour Ellis Simms

Has been like that for a fortnight. Somebody jumped the gun

Extremely disappointing certainly. It's the wages spread across 25 players for 2 or 3 years that's the issue...

Leeds would need the internals to be settled first.

That would be my take too.

All fits with what Robins was saying about being on a limited budget, of the same order of magnitude as last season's. It can't come as a surprise to anyone

Paper talk. Just a regurg from what's already out there

He had time away from the Sweden squad, it's impossible to believe that he didn't have permission.

I wouldn't argue with that but he has to want to go to another bidder, be prepared to be rotated, sit out when he's a bit off the boil etc. I could quite understand it if that's not what he wants.

I think it would be very damaging for both parties to end up in that situation. As far as I can tell Vik holds most of the cards - the club needs the money from the sale to rebuild the squad.

I don't disagree at all but they're not Muppets either. Just trying to think this through from a position of knowing nothing, like everyone else, but I have been a negotiator in another life...

It would! If he has only a half decent time there they'd struggle to get their money back though.

Sporting would want their EU20m back from a big sale and some healthy profit too. That doesn't leave too much scope to share a big percentage of the sell on fee, the more they agree to the greater the risk for them.

No idea. He'd be top dog, guaranteed game time, playing in Europe, etc etc but that's all guess work.

I'm just trying to get across the point that Vik doesn't have to agree to go anywhere else so value is a more complex issue than many are imagining here. It wouldn't matter what your West Hams or whoever might hypothetically agree to pay. He might agree to talk terms with another party, he might...

Why would exciting, young and ambitious players chose to come to Coventry if we get a reputation (fairly or not) for making it difficult for them to move on? If this is our future model then having this play out in public with Vik will be damaging and has to be settled quickly for everybody. It...

    Josh Reid back to Scotland?

It's u-21 now (since last season) and that's part of the difficulty, I think. There's a great gulf between most u-21 players and full-pro Championship. For every Calum Doyle there must be 10 or more others who develop more slowly or just reach their limits earlier.

If Vik has his mind set on Sporting then it's going to be difficult to change it. He doesn't have to agree to move anywhere as he's under contract. It's all well and good saying hold out for more money but it's a two way dialogue.
