    Transfer Shouts

I watched the MK/ Plymouth match at the end of the season. I don't think in all our time in that league did I see an individual performance as impressive as his that day. He can pass, shoot, defend and work like a trojan. Granted it was only one game but his goal record last season from midfield...

He will, not a chance he will go to either of them. I would think he will end up at a top end Champ club with parachute payments.

    Derby points deduction

From the outside looking in it has seemed a little strange that the Administrators would have gone with Kirchner given his previous at Preston, over Ashley who clearly has the finances to buy the club. Are Administrators answerable to any authority for their decision making, or do they just coin...

    Transfer Shouts

Extremely limited evidence agreed but I remember watching Palmer play a couple of seasons ago and thought he looked a decent player. Didn't think he was a number 10 type player though, as he seemed to play a deeper role than that. Last season obviously doesn't look great for him, but he's a good...

    Championship 22-23

I think they would be able to offer far more in wages than you might expect. Commercially his playing for a Welsh club would be massive, and be a great revenue generator for the club. If the club were creative they could pay him a Championship wage but then boost it up with payments linked to...

    Transfer Shouts

Brown didn't play in the Championship last season!

    Hypothetically

Loan maybe, but Southampton will still want a hefty percentage of his wages paid which will probably rule us out. Even then they might give it to January before deciding to loan him out, much will depend how their pre season goes I would have thought.

Armstrong signed a 4 year contract with Southampton on PL wages. There is not a chance he will transfer to us for what we could pay him.

    Transfer Shouts

Watching Forest yesterday it really struck me how they had got maximum use out of the loan system this season now gone. Yesterday they played loanees Zinckernagel, Garner, Spence, Davis and Lowe, without whom they would have struggled to challenge. We only brought in Maatsen and Clarke-Salter...

    Gyökeres Bids

Agree we should play hard ball with any Championship rivals, and preferably not sell at all. I remember when we sold McSheffrey to Blues, Steve Bruce was in the press for weeks beforehand conducting the transfer, expecting us to sell at a price dictated by him. When we did sell we then replaced...

    Callum O’Hare

Its immaterial whether Gyokeres is actually worth £15m or not. The actual selling price will be dependent on the balance of power between the buyer and the seller. If we have to sell to stay financially afloat then we are in a weak position to command a big fee. Likewise if there is only one...

    Goals from corners 21-22

Yes, going well into the second half of the season there were plenty of comments that we never score from set pieces. Nevertheless was pretty surprised we were placed so highly, as we are not a particularly big team compared to most in the Championship.

    Transfer Shouts

I imagine that they will be selling Spence for pretty big bucks too. Nevertheless I would be surprised if they offered us a sum for Gyokeres that most of us would be happy with. Selling to a fellow Championship club also has echoes of when we sold McSheffrey to Brum, and that didn't end too...

Was he using the same agent as Waghorn?

    Michael Doyle

Did he, or are you just making that up? To be fair even if he did its hard to argue that Leeds are not a bigger club. As for wages over his whole CCFC career - nowhere near £8m. It would be about half that, even if he had been paid £8k a week throughout his whole career with us (which he...

    Michael Doyle

You are presuming the £8k a week salary was basic (it might have been £8k inclusive of bonuses for all we know) and that the Mirror article was accurate, which is a leap of faith in itself. Even so it doesn't add up to him being paid anywhere near £8m.

Soupy Sam and the Toffee Lady

What about those mobility type cars that would park on the cinder track around the pitch at HR. Did that happen at other grounds? Always seemed a bit strange to me, although as a kid I liked the fact that all the cars were sky blue :)

    Derby points deduction

Good example. Smith was a decent enough manager, but never a number 2. Nilsson didn't want him as he was a threat to hs position rather than a help, which undermined him and led to a disastrous end to our first season in the Championship when really we should have made the play offs.

    Famous/ Celerbrity Suporters

Terry Hall seemed to adopt the Man United fan persona for some reason after the Specials became successful. He apparently regularly went to our games in the 70's, and the punk band he was in before the Specials had a song he wrote called 'CCFC OK', about being ambushed by Leeds fans.
