    Ben sheaf

In April - let’s just ignore that in February/March he started 9 games in a row on the bench before his injury and was our 4th choice CM. He looked like he had potential and would be a great player but he got dropped from the team and we added James in January to replace him. From the 21/22...

He definitely got caught in possession in dangerous areas more than he does now. Also got replaced by Matty James as it was him, Kelly & Hamer who saw out the season. People forget Sheaf didn't start a game from February onwards that season. Mark would have started him if he wasn't struggling.

He is also a prime example of why we need to give new signings (especially those who haven't played at this level) time. First season he was struggling to get to grips with the speed of the league and loads of fans were getting on his back. Now he is head and shoulders above the level.

Sheaf was ridiculous yesterday. Best midfielder on the pitch. If he continues his form and stays fit until the end of the season I can see a Prem team coughing up 12m-15m. Would fund the summer nicely but be a shame to see him go.

    FA Cup Semi Final Draw

If we play Man City or Liverpool we lose 99 times out of 100. If we play Man U or Chelsea we lose 95 times out of 100. Would love to get either of the latter two.

    Callum O’hare

I think he needs to bust a gut if he wants to play in the premier league next season. If I was Leicester, Leeds, or maybe a team like Bournemouth I wouldn't sign him based on current form. Needs to drag us into the playoffs like Hamer did last year or like how Sargeant looks to be doing for...

    Transfer Rumour Summer 2024

Agreed. Thomas Frank called Winston Reid the most important signing of their promotion season. Need a guy or two who have been there and done it to guide the rest of the squad. Would be interesting to know how many of the squad next season have experienced promotion. Doubt there will be many.

Big game for O'Hare & maybe Sheaf as well. Need to prove they can mix it with the prem teams if they want that move in the summer.

    Wolves FA cup Quarter Final

Agreed. As good as Torp can be technically he was in the wrong defensive position a lot against Watford. Another body would minimise the space he needs to cover and allow him to push forward also. 2 in midfield has only worked with Hamer as he basically covered 2 positions. I would also leave...

    Wolves FA cup Quarter Final

If we play 5-2-1-2 like yesterday and leave the gaps we did in midfield we will get hammered. Wouldn’t mind seeing 5-3-2 (same as the formation that finished last season and got us to Wembley) to provide more solidity in the middle. O’Hare & Palmer on the bench to bring on if we’re losing

    Dennis Lawrence

Didn't expect this. Hopefully he has found a better opportunity rather than any bad blood. Would like to replace him with a young coach. So many good young tactical English coaches coming through right now (McKenna, Carrick, Livermore, Williams have all gone on to management successfully)...

Who is good enough next season?

Not sure how there are only 3 Champions Leagues there - Liverpool & Chelsea X2 and Man U & Man City X1 I think it’s fair to say the tide is turning with 3 of those in the last 5 years and the financial clout of even the bottom half of the Prem. Bournemouth are beating AC Milan to signings FFS

    Just a thought

In the last 3-year cycle we finished 16th, 12th, then 5th. Then that squad was obviously gutted due to contract expirations and the sales of Gyok/Hamer. If we can finish in the top 10 this year we are in a great position for this team to push on over the next couple of years and do better than...

Who is good enough next season?

Most of the squad are good enough and the forum was in agreement of this before the fixture congestion and injuries that saw our squad stretched too thin. We were the 3rd best team in the league for the best part of 2 months - don’t think that happens when half the squad are no hopers. Next...

    Jay DaSilva Signs!

Not to get all Dabo CDM about it but I think Da Silva needs a position change. He’s a good footballer but too much of a liability defensively to be a LB/LWB. Think he needs to be a LM who we bring on to see out the game or as a wildcard maybe retrain as a box to box LCM.

    Championship thread 23/24

What pisses me off is it is teams like Forest and Brentford pulling up the ladder when they have spent large periods of their recent history outside of the Premier League.

Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 1st Mar

I would play Kitching in the middle and bring in Binks for Lati. Also Bidwell for Da Silva who isn't good enough defensively to be a starter for a play-off chasing team. Gets targeted by opposition every game. We've got a guy who has finished in the play offs twice playing at LWB. We should...

    Championship thread 23/24

We really need to get promoted in the next few years as I feel we are going to see more years like this one where the 3 relegated teams are far too superior.

    Robins Squad comments

As a hypothetical would people have preferred: A. EMC in summer and no loan signings. B. 3 quality loan signings in Jan. But EMC goes to another Championship club in the summer & we have a reduced summer budget. Likelihood of promotion small in both but slightly higher for option B.
