    Our Midfield

So sitting in a deep central position whilst at the same time being too scared go over the halfway line translates to good 'positional play and reading of the game'. Goalscoring aside - which isn't actually the defining attribute of a midfield player - Fleck has shown his superior passing...

    Our Midfield

I'll be amazed if Finch and Thomas go on to anything better than their current level. Non-footballers.

    Our Midfield

Well yes, naturally from an attacking point of view you need the wide players - fullbacks included - to get up and down and be creative. That type of system does work as long as you're prepared to pass the ball.

    Our Midfield

In terms of technical ability Fleck is one of the best players we have. His game isn't about scoring goals and I'd rather he wasn't played further up the field as his lack of pace gets exposed. He's comfortable in possession, can pick a pass and likes a tackle. Ideally we would use Fleck and...

    Coventry City Ladies.

Have to agree with Grendel here, the women's game has been massively over hyped. It can only grow when the overall quality of the teams participating in a World Cup and the WSL leagues arrive at a level where it is entertaining to watch. Rather than trying to force it on to people by any means...

    Orient fan here

Shame the way last season went after the success of the previous year, much chance of coming straight back up now that Liverani has been replaced with Hendon?

    Romain Vincelot

If Orient are willing to let Vincelot go, then surely Dean Cox should be on his way too. That's not to say he would come here, as he's definitely earned himself another crack at the Championship.

Nothing more than 200k surely, or enough to buy him out of his contract.

    Romain Vincelot

'Back on track', what to slightly average and powderpuff midfield displays? 97 games played and I'm failing to remember a stand out performance or positive display. Don't give me this 'he does the dirty/unseen work', no, he's the master of the five yard sideways/backwards pass. TM clearly...

One step closer to Conor Thomas leaving with this signing. TM is a God.

We have signed a player for money. This is a glorious day. Nasty, defensive midfielder, what a joyous, joyous day.

IF he gets his first full England Cap.

    Grant Ward

Who's talking about him? Just one sentence of information to stop any further postulating about him.

    Grant Ward

Looking unlikely that he will be with us this season as he's currently training with Rotherham.

    Coventry sign Sam Ricketts

Don't get me wrong it's a decent signing. Just rather we play him at fullback where he has played the majority of his career.
  17. LJC_CCFC

    Micheal Doyle

Doyler gets a lot of stick from our fans but he's had a good career for a player of limited technical ability. His most effective years were away from CCFC and the time when English football was defined by the default formation of 4-4-2. As a sitting or defensive midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3...

    Coventry sign Sam Ricketts

Re-watched the Play-Off Final and Ricketts doesn't exactly cover himself in glory when he replaces Nathan Thompson at centre half at 1-0. Rather he plays fullback.

And they've either lost or are in the process of losing the nucleus of their squad from last season.
