    Championship thread 25/26!

No. The players were clearly confused about the instructions they were recieving. The coaching at that early point of the season was clearly a disaster.

    Sheffield Wednesday "on the pitch"

I agree that Sheffield Wednesday do seem to have a larger than average unpleasant aspect to their support. But being supportive is more to do with the general issue of mismanagement of football clubs by unscrupulous owners than Sheffield Wednesday themselves. So we should be supportive of...

Aberdeen? I think Dundee were the bigger team in the city up until the last few decades, so presumably not Dundee United.

That's a shocking tackle, even for 1985 or whenever that was.

Derby and Forest only have eyes for each other. It's one of the most fierce rivalries in English football, I'd say. I'd say neither we nor Leicester have a genuine 'rival' in the same sense as Forest and Derby's relationship with each other. But frankly, who cares?

The only way that's not weird is if he wears it as a tribute to a City fan he was close to whenever we play them.

Do you mean me defending it? I'm not. I'm saying that it's made very difficult when you get gamesmanship like Norwich's, and that there should be retrospective action for performances like that. There's only so much a ref can do (not that I think he did it today). I was criticising Norwich's...

Some of the best attacking football weve played for years

I think the main concern is that of the out-and-out forwards, only Wright is a consistent goal scorer. Our midfield will get goals, but not at the rate they have so far, and you need your men in the box to convert a higher percentage of chances. I know this is off a frustrating game where we...

Surely the top one means we will be in contention, and they got lucky? Even the most myopic of Norwich fans couldn't claim we 'got lucky' today.

And if they fuck up, and a team loses a game because the ref has ignored the injury, they will get busted for it. We're going round in circles here, but the referee will not risk something like that. They have a career to manage, too.

They won't do that. If it turned out a ref ignored a genuine injury to a keeper they'd be busted down before you could blink.

It doesn't help when teams put in performances like Norwich did today. It's cheating. If a keeper feigns injury, what can the referee do? Need retrospective action and fines for excessive gamesmanship. They were time-wasting from 20 minutes. It's pathetic really, from a team that should be...
